Kick Ash Basket The Original Anthracite Basket for Big Green Egg, large Port

Definitely worth adding to your Big Green Egg ! Makes cleaning much easier , plus helps support combustion , as it creates more ventilation spaces.

This basket replaced the original cast iron grate for the big green egg. I've had a big green egg about 15 years, and over the time I've had to replace most of the parts. Thankfully big green egg as an excellent warranty program It's all ceramics have been covered, but a cast iron and steel parts are an out of pocket cost. I found over the years that the cast iron grate specifically would take a lot of abuse, being that it's so close to the flame. I've had no fewer than three of them crack and warp, then rust, and need replacement. This basket has been a perfect replacement. It's very deep and holds a significant amount of charcoal, and it's easily picked up and shaken to remove burnt soot from good charcoal. You will not be disappointed with this basket.

I bought this because of all the recommendations on the Big Green Egg Reddit forums. Man, were they right. This thing is awesome, and cleanup is a breeze. I would call this a must-have accessory for the BGE.
