So far so good put it on today and starts like a new car now. Was smaller than replaced starter had to put some washers on bolts but no problems yet. Took me about an hour to replace

This thing doesn’t look like it’s gonna work because it’s so different from the old starter, the gear doesn’t even look the same but the holes line up (Bolts are not included, and factory bolts are about half an inch too long, I solved this with a 1/2in nut on each one as a spacer allowing me to keep my factory bolts) easy install, cranks right up with no shimming. P.S. if it still ain’t cranking, check your battery, ask me how i know

Damaged my SBC starter and ordered one from Napa. It didn't fit. Decided to try this one...fits. but about 2/3 the size of the old one...can hear the difference on starting, but it got the job done. Truck been OOC for 2 months. Concerned about durability, but worry about it more when and if it breaks? Also had to purchased shorter mounting hardware

Installed day received and is working very well.

My father in law needed a starter and this was the cheapest we could find. It was very difficult to remove and replace "but that was an engineer screw up. Anyhoo it has worked flawless since installation. Yes I recommend for the price. If it dies within the year I will drop it to 0 stars It died after 7 months! Very disappointing but what should I of expected for such a cheap price. As soon as it stops being cold, rainy, and snowing I will pull it out, yet again. It not easy doing this and manufactures apparently take it as a joke.

Perfect fit

Not an easy install, but worth the effort so far (waited 5 months before writing this review) - So far - So good! Amazon price point was excellent, delivery was fairly quick, quality seems on par with others I have bought / used. I usually buy these items from the local parts store and get the "lifetime warranty" but the cost difference on this item was too great to ignore. Again, - So far, really happy with this purchase.

I bought this starter from Amazon and much to my surprise, it arrived 2 days later. I purchased this item to be used on my 1999 GMC Safari with a 2003 Astro Van engine in it. I just did the engine swap myself. The engines were identical 4.3L GM V6 engines and this starter would fit either model, either year. Anyhow, this starter turned out to be better than the OEM one. It has a slightly bigger motor, a dedicated grounding bolt to ensure a good ground wire if you want and the one I got was chrome. I'm a professional mechanic and I highly recommend this item. The van I used it on was AWD with a front differential, this starter fits even though it's got a slightly larger motor for more cranking power.
