GE Color Select Backlit Buttons Universal Remote Control, Samsung TV Remote

This remote was very easy to program. I programmed 4 items (tv, dvd, roku express and soundbar). The directions were very straight forward. I only used the Direct Code option so I cant comment on the Auto Code Search. I highlighted the codes in the provided Code List before I started the programming to make it easier and faster once I started. All four devices worked using the first code I input. I was pleasantly surprised because my dvd player is at least 5 years old. I'm very happy that this one remote is able to control four devices and I can put the original remotes away. It makes things so much easier! I also like that you can choose a back light color. There are 5 to choose from and its very easy to change the color. A few observations that will take a little getting used to: You have to push the device button you want before pushing any other buttons to make sure you're controlling the correct device. Also, there is no option to turn all your devices on or off at the same time, they have to be done individually. Overall, I like this universal remote and would get another one if I needed it.

Love this remote the weight and size is great. It’s so nice to have it light up and it was so simple to connect to the tv. Very easy to use too. It was very reasonably priced and functional.

Nicely designed in terms of form factor. I bought the black model that allows you to choose backlight colors. I had a lot of frustration trying to program my Roku+ Stick (this is one of the "better" ones in the product line with built in volume controls), but none of the codes worked. Before I decided to pack in in and return it, I combed through the Amazon Q&A section and found people saying that it seems to work with the Roku Express stick. This was interesting because the official feedback from the company was incorrect - they state that the remote only works with full-on Roku TVs, not the stick products. Seeing this info from that astute Amazon customer, I grabbed the Roku Express Stick from a different TV and swapped it out in the room and television where I wanted the GE Universal Remote to work. It worked just liked it should - I got it working in one shot, the first code "took" and I was in business. / None of this would have been necessary if Roku had better designed products with backlighting built in. In a darkened bedroom at night, it's hard to see your controls. / The moral of this story is that the GE Universal remote works exactly as I had hoped. It control both TV and Streaming device (plus other stuff like DVD players), all in one simple, backlit remote. I'm beyond happy with the quality and price.

I picked this up specifically for a Viewsonic 37" LCD with a PIP display, and other advanced features. I had tried others, they were fine to control volume and on /off, but not much else. This Remote Control 100% works every feature I've tested with the Viewsonic TV, and it has a lot of options. Easy enough, let's add a LG Blu Ray with USB Media player. And, again, it works 100%. Even open / close door. Since it was going so well, I dug a 12 year old Sanyo sound bar out of the closet and added that to the setup, and it works 100%. Very happy. Also, very easy to program, and the lighted keyboard is a must have.

I only bought this to replace the crappy XBOX ONE remote I bought that didn't even last me 2 yrs for my XBOX ONE! & I assumed that being a G.E., it would be better! How wrong was I?! It took a 1/2 hr just to program it turn my TV on & off & adjust the volume on it! & I cannot program it at all for my XBOX ONE! It only provides 3 codes to manually do this, & all 3 are useless! I TRIED the auto program, & it managed to turn the console off, & then it says to manually turn the device back on, & hit Viol. Up till it shuts it off again! Why must this be so complicated w/so many steps?! Anyway, I hit the vol. Up button till my hand was getting tired & nothing happened! It didn't have any effect at all on the XBOX! & in the Q&A, the manufacturer claims it does & doesn't wok for the XBOX ONE! Well, which is it?! Schizo says what?! Other people say they got it to work, but, I wish they said how! I am gonna wind up returning this & get my $ back, & buy the crappy cheapo one that I will have to replace in 23 months again, cause at least that 1 worked right out of the box! I'd rather have to replace it every 22-23 months, then have 1 that lasts forever & doesn't do what I need it to, & you need an engineering degree or be a Jedi to get it to work right for what you need it to do! SMDH!!! Other con is, you need the strength of 10 men, or some kind of a tool to get the battery cover off! REALLY?!! WHY?! If you have arthritis, don't buy this, as you'll never be able to get the batteries in it, let alone replace them! Ridiculous! Absolute waste of $!

5 Week Update: Having to reprogram after a month of use. Addendum: Lost connection with LG TV on second day of use and had to reprogram. Also discovered that I could not get it to connect with Amazon Fire Stick or cycle through HDMI connections (Micca on one). When I end connection to TV via computer or phone screen mirroring, the TV defaults back to it's own home page and I have to use my other remote to get back to Fire Stick. Original Review: I can clearly see all the buttons and the ones that I don't need on my LG remote are not on this new remote so my choices are limited but exactly what I need.

Upon inserting the 2 AAA batteries, the remote worked immediately and was fully functional with my TV. Programming it to my Roku only took about a minute. I went from getting up to manually adjust the volume like it’s 1998 to enjoying a smooth 2-in-1 setup within minutes. Delivery was late, but the product made up for it, definitely worth the money!

Great remote, so simple to program. Really nice to use when lying in bed at night watching TV as it lights up and you can find the buttons easily. Programming it is so easy.

This remote is nice however it will not program to our TV!! We have tried every code possible. Waste of money if you ask me!!
