I'm an amateur astronomer and wind speed is an important environmental factor that affects the quality of the images I take. It is important that wind speed for my particular equipment not exceed about 1.5 mph. This little gadget tells me the instantaneous wind speed and the maximum wind speed and that's all I need to know. Please note that the device works by the wind moving a propeller, so the measurement is directional. You will be getting the wind speed in whatever direction you hold the device. If you need to know the wind speed independent of direction, you may want to consider another device (such as a hot-wire anemometer) that reads wind speed in all directions.

It worked, but the little fan would rattle and whine too much for my taste, and it’s readings were up to 50% off from my other equipments. Ended up returning. It’s a good size (small) and uses the cheap and easily found CR 2032 battery though.

Product should be good but does not work for my special needs. Numbers are too small for my eyesight.

This is a very compact and simple device that measures linear wind velocities and air temperatures. It is an economical tool to use when balancing air ducts in a home or measuring wind profiles for wind energy generators.

Wanted to measure output of one of my shop air filters between different manufacturers of filter brands and this thing lasted all of 15 seconds. Was a pretty cool 15 seconds though. Seemed accurate. It just stopped reading anything giving me flat zeros.

I needed it to check very low wind speeds of 0 - 8 mph. It works just fine.

it works and shows wind speed and temp. the sensors aren't terribly accurate. i compared it to a more expensive calibratable unit and it differs +/- 10~15 percent. i think the plastic fan wheel is sorta cheaply made and friction in the pin/axle causes irregular spin speed and vibration causing poor accuracy.
