Great center channel speaker!
Let me start by saying that I own a production company and have (and have used) a LOT of very high end audio equipment. When it comes to high output production sound systems, the quality of the speakers makes a huge difference, especially when you're talking about running your speakers at or near their maximum rated power. Home theater systems (which is what I'll be talking about here) are an entirely different story! Here are a few tips, as well as how these speakers perform: (1) Power handling for home theater speakers really isn't that important. There are so many other factors related to "loudness" other than how many watts a speaker can handle. The fact of the matter is, most people will never come close to the maximum rater power of a home theater speaker and most will be more than sufficient for home theatre applications. These speakers are no exception. They're plenty loud, I've not even come close to running them near their maximum rated power and they handle it with no problem. (2) Nearly every in-wall speaker is going to provide better overall sound than a typical sound bar. Of course, there may be exceptions in the very high price range. But, when you're talking about anything in relatively the same price range, in-wall speakers are always going to win out. Why? Simply put, because they're bigger. No, bigger isn't always better, but when it comes to low end frequency response (a.k.a. bass), larger speakers are always going to outperform smaller speakers. These are no exception, nice large woofers for good low end response. (3) The larger 5.25" woofers in the center channel helps, you'll be pleased with the sound! The larger woofers in this center channel (vs. a smaller drivers or a sound bar) will simply produce more low end. We're not talking subwoofer frequencies, but more kick and punch than you'll find in a smaller woofer. These have nice low end response and sound really great. (4) In-wall is worth the time effort. I really debated doing in-wall speakers in my most recent renovation, I kept thinking about a sound bar because of the simplicity. But, I'm REALLY glad I changed my mind. The sound from these speakers is so far superior to my sound bar it's ridiculous. What's more, I was able to keep them out of reach of the kids and free up a little more room (and paint the grills to match). (5) Buy an affordable speaker and save your money for something that matters. Yes, there are tons of speaker options and price ranges. In the end, buying a more affordable speaker (like these) will leave you with a lot of extra cash and still have a great sounding system. I'm really happy with these speakers, they sound great, install nicely, and are super affordable. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Micca M-CS Dual 5.25 Inch 2-Way Speaker for Home Theater
The Micca M-CS Dual 5.25 Inch In-Wall Center Channel Speaker is a great addition to my setup. Dialogue is clear and crisp, and it blends nicely with the rest of my system. Installation was simple, and the low-profile design looks clean in the wall. Excellent value for a center channel.

M-CS used for front L+R, happy with quality and results
Many strong reviews of the Micca in-wall speakers. I will agree that they feel pretty good quality, and sound good, although I don't have a lot of comparison to other size or type of speakers for my purpose. I opted for the larger M-CS for my front left and right surround because my previous Onkyo fronts were a similar size with dual speakers and tweeter. Installation was a breeze; check stud locations, cut a big hole with the included template, run a wire, set the speakers in and turn the clamp screws. I could not use a 3rd in-wall for the center because there is a stud directly near the center line of my TV. It seems you would need to be very lucky to have a perfectly centered hollow space where you want to put a center in-wall speaker, the size of the M-CS does not leave much leeway between typical 16in centered studs. I opted for the small Yamaha NS-C210BL for center channel as shown in the picture. I completed the automated setup with mic from my Onkyo TX-NR656 for 5.1.2 configuration and it set the crossover on these M-CS fronts to 90hz. I lowered that a bit to 80hz, and I had to bump up the db on my Yamaha center a few notches to bring the voice track out from the 2 larger L+R speaker channels. Overall I'm happy with these Micca speakers, Great value for the price, they sound as good or better than my previous Onkyo speakers of similar size. Mounting inside the wall without a back box does not seem to be a problem, but my wall does have rolled insulation throughout even though it's an interior wall. Wife is very happy with the improved look of the hidden speakers, and I will paint them to match the wall and virtually disappear. I plan to buy the Micca 6" in-wall (square) or in-ceiling (round) to hide my surround channels soon.

Micca Speakers are very much worth considering!!
I bought 3 of these and 2 of the 8" ceiling speakers in May 2014. Installed 2 vertically and 1 horizontally under a 55" LED TV. I originally planned on speakers from Monoprice, but since these are similar in specs to the Monoprice units and I didn't have to pay shipping, I figured I would go with these. I wasn't looking for audiophile grade speakers, because I'm not audiophile, nor did I have audiophile money. However, I do enjoy nice sounding equipment. These are nicely constructed, as other reviewers have stated; they didn't look cheap or feel flimsy. It is important to take a few minutes to run the mounting screws in and out of the tabs, before mounting them. I also tested them before cutting any drywall or mounting, to make sure they all worked. They don't sound the same out of the wall as they do in the wall, so don't worry about the sound quality unless it's clearly distorted or something like that. I packed each wall cavity with extra insulation to keep as much of the sound from resonating out the back. It does make a difference. The mounting tabs all worked well, I did have to remove a couple due to the placement and stud location, but no big deal. I just screwed them into the stud at those points. My wife painted the bezels and grills to match our walls. it's not bad if you take your time with a roller. Just don't glob the paint on the grills. She did an excellent job! The speakers sound very nice and do an excellent job at reproducing movies and music. In my opinion, at this price you can't beat them. For the regular movie watcher that wants nice sound, these fit the bill. I also did the YPAO calibration on my Yamaha AV receiver...not sure if it really made a significant change. I have Klipsch speakers in my other house and I can't really tell the difference. Maybe my ears just aren't as tuned as an audiophile's are, but these sounded good to me. The tweeters aren't harsh or blaring and the mids do their job. It's imperative to have a subwoofer, otherwise you just won't get the bass needed for explosions and the like. Transformers 4 would not have sounded the same without a sub! After installing these in one room, I started thinking about doing another room. I paid just over $200 for 5 speakers, that's not bad at all for a nice sounding movie experience!

Great sound, great price point
Great in-wall solution for a center channel. Mounting template makes install a snap, but the paint shield is NOT the right size resulting in paint getting in the groove where the grill fits in as well as some paint on the speaker itself. I'll have to wait to see if it effects performance at all. Overall the sound quality is better than the Sony Satellite speakers these replaced, havent really had much a chance to push them hard yet as my subwoofer is weak and can't hang with the volumes we desire with a nice DTS soundtrack.

Great In Wall Speakers for the price!!
I purchased these Micca in wall speakers after reading several Amazon positive reviews. Let me first start off by saying, I am not an Audiophile. My wife did not want bulky tower speakers in our main living area, so these speakers were a great compromise. I also didn't want to spend a ton of money on the more expensive Klipsch or Polk speakers, so I felt for the low cost and other peoples positive experiences, I would give these speakers a try. Along with this center channel, I also purchased the Micca M-8C In Ceiling Speakers (for my rear surround sound), along with the Micca M-8S In Wall Speakers (for my front right and left speakers). The installation was extremely easy, using the templates provided. The speakers sit flush to the wall and are very attractive looking. The construction of the speakers is of very good quality and I was surprised by the great sound quality for the price. I also purchased a Yamaha 8 Inch Subwoofer and Yamaha 5.1 Channel Receiver to complete my surround sound system. After several months of having these speakers installed, I cannot say enough positive things about these speakers, and would not hesitate to recommend them to my friends and family. Whether I am watching an action movie, or my favorite sports team, these speakers do not disappoint!!

Best on a budget
I have Klipsch and ESS speakers in other rooms. These are good speakers, worthy of building them into your walls/ceilings where wanted. They're easy to install, assuming your wall is 2x4+ stud with 1/2" drywall. They would probably install in 1" plaster, but I can't confirm that. In a small room (or many in a large room), these are very good "mid/high" range speakers -- don't expect bass, that's a different animal.
