MARMOTMen's Precip Jacket

For the money, this an excellent name brand option. The value is in the features that this jacket offers; stuffs into own pocket, roll up hood into collar, and pit zippers.I purchased this jacket approx. 2 and half years ago. Since then, the interior lining has started to degrade. Key areas of degrading are around the belt line (where the hip straps of a backpack sit), the arm pits, and collar. This is normal wear and tear, but I am very demanding of my equipment. I thought it would have survived longer. The seems and zippers had no issues.For the everday individual, this is an excellent choice. Me personally, I may step up to a more rugged and robust option that Marmot offers.

This is my first rain shell, but my impressions are great. I am 6'1" and 200lbs. I have a slender build and the large fit perfectly. Slightly baggy so I can easily layer beneath it. I just got back from a week in Canada and had the pleasure of using the Precip jacket twice. I used it on the first morning of a canoe camping trip in Algonquin Park. It was about 50 degrees and a thick foggy mist settled over the lake for the first day. I used this and a long sleeve base layer and I was warm and dry. My second opportunity was at Niagara Falls. I wore it while doing some long exposure shots of the falls at night. Definitely kept the mist off of me and dry.

Got it at a nice price. Love the pit zips. Like the style and fit.

Purchased two of these as gifts. Both people are very happy with the item. My son in Florida needed a jacket for hiking and said this will be great. My husband said he needed a rain coat that will breathe when we walk, not make him hot just because of the rain.

This is the second Marmot precip I bought. The first one I had for about 4 years and flaked horribly when I got old. It was unbearable.The replacement I bought had a defect in which the drawstring in the hood broke on the inside, and I had to sew it back on.Dunno if I'll buy another. The quality is poor for the price.

Light Weight.. fits very nicely... I am short and sleeves and jacket lengths are normally too long. This fits perfectly... am surprised

This jacket is exactly as advertised. Lightweight, waterproof and easy to pack. This is a shell. It is not going to keep you warm.

Baggy for a large. Great quality jacket, very light, but super strong material, good stitching, YKK zippers nice extras. Excellent rain shell.

Excellent rain jacket...Is as described, waterproof, windproof, and breathable... The latter surprised me as waterproof jackets previously made me too hot... tbf they were cheaper brand.This jacket is definitely worth the money given its well over a year old, and due to quality and the amount of rain we get in UK it's cheap in the context l have a great rain jacket, l often wear a fleece under it when weather is cold and wet.... A decent rain jacket is definitely worth getting.. this is also packable..

You don't need an arcteryx to be wunderlust 2 hours away from home. This jacket made half the appalachian trail, it's cheap, durable and works great. Plus you won't cry the day you forget this jacket in a restaurant

I have not yet worn the garment during heavy or persistent rain, however I have the Pre Cip trousers and they have kept me dry during heavy rainfall. I purchased this jacket because the one that I have, probably the most popular lightweight Goretex jacket and which is considerably more expensive has not performed well.

Best rain jacket I've ever owned. I love this thing! I purposely went out in the rain several times to test it out. Even if really heavy rain, I was kept nice and dry.

Very good product. Ticked all the boxes I required. Light, packable, waterproof, breathable, packable hood, breathable, pit zips. Walking gear doesn't always look the most stylish of clothing, but this does look pretty good, in a cool looking slate grey. So, overall highly recommended.
