My little guy is just starting on solids and I want to be able to freeze in very small quantities.** A: While I've never had a baby, I have plenty of friends who make theirown baby food. I think this would be an excellent way to freeze verysmall portions. **Q: Is this product BPA Free?** A: Yes, it's BPA free. It is made of polyethylene and silicone, neither of which contain BPA **Q: What are the size dimensions of the ice cubes?** A: the cubes are not cubes at all but are shaped like a half moon crescent. This allows them to slide out of the tray with almost no effort. They are about 1/2 inch thick about 2 inches wide and 1 inch tall, (best guess as I don't have one on hand and is close to the metric units given in previous answer). This is an odd shape if you want cubes but makes a lot of sense in terms of freezing quickly and getting them out of the tray. This is hands down the best ice crescent (cube) tray I have ever used. These are particularly nice in an RV where you can fill the trays and hit the road with no worries of spills, and have ice ready for your end of day repast. **Q: How easy is it to remove a single ice cube -- by grabbing it by the edges?** A: I give the tray a slight twist and it loosens the cubes easily for removal. They ice comes out easily by "grabbing" the sides, but when the sides are not sticking up, you can simply push on one side of the cube and it slides right out of the tray.
