Ignited Minds

This book is inspiring and full of hope for India. As an Indian, it reminds me who we are and what we are capable of. Dr. Abdul Kalam is the current president of India, father of India's satellite and missile technology. However, his passion is to ignite young minds. I have heard that even now, with his busy schedule as the president of the largest democracy, he spends much of his time teaching young people both in person and via the Internet. I understand he has a goal of personally meeting 100,000 students. I believe he is more than half way there. My daughter has ADD. When she picked up this book she read 80 pages in one morning. To my knowledge, this is the fastest she has ever read any book. This book inspired her and I'm sure it will inspire any teenager. I encourage parents of East Indian origin or anyone who cares about India or wants to know about India, to read this book and encourage their children to read it. This book shouldn't just sell briskly, it should be flying off the shelves. Lets ignite the minds of our next generation, who can and will make a difference.

This book is written very well and I believe that every Indian must read this book. Being a Scientist and also the President of the country, Dr. Kalam has done an excellent job to talk about what India should do in order to progress in economy and development of the country within few decades

" Let me go to dust as a proud citizen of India, to rise again and rejoice in its glory", I really hope he does rejoice in India's glory. This book present so many ideas from past and present that were successful in achieving common goal with people from different departments. I think Dr. Kalam's idea to work towards a common goal in mission mode is absolutely necessary to be a developed nation. We can take Dr. Kalam's suggestions and ideas as a starting point to achieve his dream to see Indian as a developed nation.

An eye opener for all the youth. A man dreams for the country and its people and making us the young generation realise the responsibility we shoulder.

If you have a teenager at home, please do get "Ignited Minds: Unleashing the Power Within India by A.P.J Abdul Kalam (ISBN: 978-0143029823)" and give it to him. It will ignite his mind. A great example of what a humble karma yogi could achieve.

I am sorry to say that I am not impressed. Oh the writing itself is flawless but other than that it seems to me rather self-serving and honestly full of names dropped. I wanted to learn about the minds ingnited in India of the present day, not how the learned doctor was involved with the atomic movement in India, of which he reminds us chapter after chapter. In answer to a question about blocking the arms race in India he suggests his colleague shoud first raise the blockade in the US and the Soviet Union. Hardly helpful. I don't think this is the India most Indians are hoping for. Far better read Oliver's India Rising. Sadly, for all his opening statement (India's major enemy is "Poverty") I would suggest that it is Ignorance and there is nothing in this book which shows the "vast majority" the way out of this. Deeds not words, Dr. Professor.

Good work by Abdul Kalam ji.. This book shows how India can develop in various fronts.. He used all his experiences and is a must read book for every Indian

This book is basically deals with motivation. In various chapters late A.p.j abdul kalam mention about incidents and conversations with students and eminent personalities. As per the title of the book it is worth reading and full of new ideas, suggestions, plans those will be helpful if one understand the real practicality of thaughts. I read it and got lot of ideas, knowledge. One thing I want to add that in every lesson a reader got real story about that particular topic for better understanding of that lesson
