Good quality
This was exactly what I was looking for. This band gets the job done at a great price.

Bought based upon what my PT office uses
I’m sure there are a million products PTs use, but this is a super simple and very effective way to strength train your muscles after surgery (rotator cuff in my case). Therband is the brand my office uses and the price was reasonable. I use them twice daily right now and they’ve worked well. Not sure what folks are talking about when the mention an odd smell. They smell like a giant rubber band sort of. It isn’t offensive to me at all, but that’s subjective I suppose. Durable so far and I can use them easily in multiple places such as at work. Light weight and easily transported.

Thera bands- a must for the health conscious adult
In terms of increasing resistance, physical therapists rate these exercise thera bands as yellow-- red-- green-- blue-- black-- silver. I'm on physical therapy after sustaining a distal third closed fracture of my fibula. From yellow to red, then green, I'm advancing quite well in my healing, thanks to my PT who helped me learn to walk again. The thera bands are one of the tools she uses everyday to build up my ankle and leg strength. I decided to purchase the advanced pack (blue and black bands) in preparation to more resistance exercises since I'm almost through with physical therapy. At a length of 5 ft and width of 5 inches, these bands are great for exercising the ankles, legs and arms. They have the correct dimensions for my purposes. If used correctly, they'll last for years. I have a red band that has lasted for 5 years and is still in good shape. In addition, I can use these bands to exercise when I'm well and completely healed. They're useful not just for physical therapy but for exercises for the uninjured individual. They're great for travelling because they are light and can fit in any nook in your bags. They help prevent deep venous thrombosis or DVT during plane flights or car travel not just for cancer survivors but for the regular population as well. I strongly recommend these thera bands.

The most useful bands we've come across
When it comes to bands the Theraband style of band has been the most useful in our gym. They are easy to grab on to and adapt to both strength and mobility exercises. I know a lot of companies make bands in the same style, but I understand Theraband is the original and still the best. I most recently bought the latex band set that includes the blue and black bands. They are fairly low resistance on their own, so I usually use them together to get the right resistance. I particularly like them for band pull-aparts, face pulls, triceps pushdowns, abdominal work, and more. I much prefer these over tube style bands. Theraband has options for both latex and non-latex bands. I have both, but prefer latex bands, since it is a natural material. Though in use, both work equally well. I've also found that both hold up well too, as I've not had any break on me, despite a lot of use. I do wish that the Advanced or Super Advanced sets included a Gold band (max resistance). As far as I can tell, it is only possible to get the Gold band by buying an entire 6-yard roll. Inclusion of a Gold (max) band would reduce the need for doubling-up bands to get more resistance. Other than the desire for a higher resistance band, I highly recommend these. As far as gym equipment goes, they are the best bang for the buck in terms of versatility.

Better than typical resistance bands
I had a physical therapist give me some of these bands in light weights a number of years ago. I like how easy they are to grip, and that they’re stretchier than the handled bands. Nice to find them in these tougher resistances. Note that they’re easier to rip than the round bands—be careful using them with shoes on.

Excellent price for brand name
Theraband is the gold standard for exercise bands and this is a decent price. They come in varying levels of resistance, be sure to check the chart. They are color coded. My husband uses a much stronger/denser one than I do. They do get brittle with age, so I would not stock up, I would buy them as the old ones wear out. (which takes years). A great product!

Use the same brand that professional physical therapists use.
A key tool which my physical therapist has me use are resistance bands to build up strength after my surgery. One of the exercises was to use a barbell. Instead I purchased this set and it has proven just as effective as the heavier alternative. Another plus of resistance bands is that they take up little space and weigh just ounces so can easily taken on trips so you don't need to find a gym.
