## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An instant favorite for me
*by A***R on June 8, 2021*

I never knew these existed until a week ago, I was still young when these were on the market before, so I don’t know how they USED to taste. How I know they taste NOW is good, to me. There is a nutty taste, not quite how I remember peanuts to be, but good to snack on. They’re firm but soft enough to chew on, they’re not wet or squishy. For me, a person who really, really misses peanuts and other nuts that I can no longer eat, these are great. They do contain WHEAT and SOY, and they apparently contain MILK allergens, right what it says off the bag. So, not good for people with those allergies, no.For me, the price was good for the product. Not too expensive, and I got the six bags to last me a while.Honestly, I just got tired that I couldn’t snack on some things anymore. For those of you who have nut allergies but no gluten or dairy allergies, this may be a good choice. Also made my family try them. Mamá likes them, but Tía and my boyfriend say they have an aftertaste. Just to warn you. I don’t taste anything gross or weird.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This has been a consistently great product I've enjoyed for decades.
*by M***G on April 15, 2020*

I used to get these in a jar at the grocery store when I was a kid. I love the flavor. These would be a great substitute for someone who couldn't eat nuts but I eat them because I prefer them to some nuts. They now come in 8oz resealable bags but I preferred the older plastic jars and glass before that. Since they don't last long in my house, it's not much of a concern. Also not a personal concern of mine but for someone else it might be an issue, these came to me with a six month expiration. Since they had been out of stock, I assume these are fresh and the six month shelf life may be all you get with this product. It's not a canned good that will go in your cupboard and be neglected so I wouldn't worry about it. This has been a great tasting product over many decades. I just found out that these are manufactured in a town nearby so it's an added bonus to support the area. A great Midwest product.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wheat Nuts, how I kinda remember them...
*by E***D on April 28, 2020*

I was always a fan of Wheat Nuts then they disappeared a few years ago.Thought it might have been cause of those with perceived gluten issues or whatever the illness of the moment is.I may have kinda been right.Turns out another company bought Wheat Nuts. Recipe, dies, everything and they were sitting on it for a while.I knew they were gone from stores yet I still searched for the odd shaped jar with the red lid.I looked online one day and there it was. Inclusion Technologies LLC or should I say Nadanut. (Inclusion Technologies LLC is a terrible name for a food company. Sounds like they may be growing test tube babies in another lab.)They manufacture some other Wheat Nut looking products. You can buy from them and pay shipping or they can redirect youhere and you can buy from Amazon. And those with Prime can forgo the shipping.Next time I'll get the sampler pack.Funny how you miss something more when you know you can't get it and when you do get it something is different. The Wheat Nuts seem smaller. I recall sliding two of the horseshoe pieces together. Can't do that now. They also seem not as salty, but that might be a good thing.Still just as crunchy and same texture. The classic red label on the jar is gone and the current packaging wouldn't seem out of place on a dollar store shelf.Truly, it's a nightmare. The package now sports wheat stalks. Front and back. Back only is fine cause not many venture to the far side of the bag. But on the front? It's called Wheat Nuts! I take your word there is wheat somewhere in the package.Once upon a time there were people called 'graphic designers'. We created pleasing images for products.People didn't have to read a label. They looked for the image. And people were slightly confused when an image was refreshed.Maybe a little angry as well. The font is changed. Would the contents still be the same? I used to buy ketchup. Now it is catsup. There were two sizes. Now there are eight. And one of them is upside down? This is partially due to company owners or their spouses using whatever graphics program was on the computer, manipulated fonts and downloaded some clip art to produce the lovely art forms on store shelves. Even store brand cereal boxes have more appeal.I will lay some blame on the consumer as well. No matter how many multiple sizes of one item someone will want different. An email campaign to the home company could result in a boycott if a new 17.5 oz size isn't implemented. You see, that would fit perfectly in my refrigerator between the capers and the gluten free, pumpkin spice Redi Whip.Sometimes a focus group is a good thing. Sometimes saying No is better.Another good thing is my wife never liked them and my daughter won't go near them. Too bad. That's more for me.So my evening snack is now consisting of a half cup of Corn Nuts followed by a half cup of Wheat Nuts. I'm not picky about the size cup I choose.I grew up in the 70s and there were lots of odd and manufactured snacks. Don't get me started on Pringles. Remember the cool paper liner? Now Pringles don't care how many chips are mangled before you pop the top. These are the perfect snacks for the GenXer fighting middle age, but giving in to some nostalgia. Strange shaped snacks made from the fruit or vegetables of the day constantly crowd store shelves, but they don't seem to last. Kale nibbles anyone?Salty snacks seem the way to go. I've just about given up on any candy from when I was a kid. They can't make any of that right. That could be cause everything wasn't jammed full of HFCS back then.I'm surprised Pepsi with Real Sugar is still around. There are loads of craft sodas with sugar, some are quite good and more expensive. Kroger has their own brand of real sugar soda, but the cola tastes like R.C. and the root beer tastes like a bottle of wintergreen LifeSavers. Well, that's what it is, but wait til you get home to add the Mentos. (When did root beer turn into such an unpopular flavor as wintergreen?) You can get an imported Coca-Cola brewed with sugar, but again, more expensive.Last summer my family and I took a nice holiday to England via Iceland with a layover in Toronto. Every place we stopped had every drink and soda imaginable made with sugar. Well, except for the low/no calorie versions. No HFCS in sight.Seems like the US is the holdout. Anything to save a few pennies and that's all it comes down to. Most consumers don't care about taste. It's quantity that matters. So here we are back to Wheat Nuts made with sugar. Doesn't specify cane or beet. It's a start!
