The income tax regulations contain the distillation of our great country's public-private dialectic, all of humanity's wisdom resides in the 2 column pages.  You'll find anti-stuffing rules, magical realism, weird realism, critical depreciation theory, esoteric philosophics (what is like-kind? what is not?) PoMo deconstruction of hobby losses, etc.The nation needs the Income Tax Regulations more than its bonus-depreciated sedatives and sleep aids.

The internal revenue code doesn't spell out every possible scenario.  Thus the Treasury issues, in reality the IRS, under direction from the Secretary of the Treasury, issues detailed tax regulations.  This 6 volume set contains more information than you may want, but it's necessary for anyone who is studying or practicing tax law.
