Question 1

What is the difference between this product and the Ancestral Supplements brand?

Accepted Answer

Thanks for your question.
We have created an organ complex that is ancestrally consistent by encapsulating as much of the whole animal as possible - a total of 9 organs. Our ancestors would have eaten the whole animal nose to tail. Our blend offers a comprehensive variety of ingredients that may better emulate what was included in traditional diets . It is a supplement that fills in nutritional gaps to help improve overall health and wellness.

Ancestral Supplements are an excellent company with great products and top class customer service. We share the share high standards as them when it comes to sourcing and manufacturing.

We decided to include some extra key components in our complex including:

Lung
Thymus
Brain
Intestines

Our company mission is to make it easy to consume the most nutrient dense foods on the planet. We believe that everyone deserves easy access to these nutrient dense superfoods.

Question 2

How much heme iron is in the organ complex

Accepted Answer

Thank you for your question about the heme iron content in our Grass Fed Organ Complex . The vitamin and mineral content of organs / glands can be quite misleading... most of the real power of these foods come from the unique peptides, enzymes, cofactors, stem cells and DNA. .. all these things are absent on nutrition panels.
As such, we don't regularly perform assays on our products.
You can view the nutritional data on specific organ meats using http://nutritiondata.self.com/
But as mentioned it will not give you the entire story...

Organ meats are some of the most nutrient-dense foods on the planet. They contain abundant bioavailable B12, several B-complex vitamins, fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K2, bioavailable iron, copper, magnesium, and a beneficial omega-3 to omega-6 fatty acid ratio. They are naturally enriched in nutrients that we require.
Although they did not have our labels, our ancestors had this knowledge. They prized organ meats for their vital properties.

The native Americans and other tribal groups and the original healers believed that eating the organ meats from a healthy animal would improve the health of the organs of the individual.
These ancestral people understood that organ meats provided superior nutrition value (and medicinal value) over every food source at their disposal. They learned this through thousands of years of tradition. Knowledge passed down from generation to generation.

Our fellow mammals have very instinctive practices around hunting. Wolves in the wild preferentially consume the organ meats of their prey. Lions will also feast on the organs of their prey often leaving the muscle meat for the scavengers.
An ancestral perspective teaches us that the whole food is superior to its isolated nutrients. For hundreds of thousands of years, there was no concept of vitamin B12 – let alone a B12 supplement. Our ancestors were keenly aware that organ meats enabled vitality.

We have created a Grassfed Organ Complex that is ancestrally consistent by encapsulating the whole animal.

Each organ contains its own unique benefits and nutritional profile. Since consuming organ meats is so rare in our culture today we wanted to create a complex with a broad spectrum.

Our complex may be used like a multivitamin that provides a large range of nutrients, that supports all the major organs and glands. Our Organ Complex fills a gap in our modern diets acting as an insurance policy against deficiencies. Our Complex does contain Spleen which is known to 5 X's More Heme Iron Than Liver.

I created Optimal Carnivore LLC because I found it difficult to source high quality organ meat. I disliked the the process of buying them, preparing them and trying to make them tasty!

Our company mission is to make it easy to consume the most nutrient dense foods on the planet. We believe that everyone deserves easy access to these nutrient dense superfoods.
