Classic
Live a classic water bottle on those cycle days. Works well and is a good fit/size. Has decent heat retention and is comfortable when placed. Classic design and makes me think of home.

High quality, multiple use product—and great color, too!
I grew up in a household where my mother made sure we always had at least one functioning hot water bottle. If there was an injury that required warmth, she’d whip it out. Stomachache? Get the hot water bottle. My favorite use was when she prepared a nice warm one for me when it was really cold to keep my feet warm (to save money my parents turned the heat down low at night). I now also keep a water bottle around for such purposes. Rubber, known for its durability and insulation, has been the material of choice for this product for decades. The ribs on this one help keep it warm longer, and if the water is really hot, shields you somewhat from the heat (though you might also want to consider a towel if too hot). And these rubber bottles come in fun and pretty colors beyond the typical red that was the only choice of my youth. I ordered mint green and love the color. And I still cherish a hot water bottle on a cold winter night, because I, too, turn the heat down low at night.

It's a red hot water bottle
I expected a larger bottle it's made well I'm happy about that.

Old-school, affordable, very reliable—held up for 2 years of nightly use. Yes, I recommend.
Lede: I bought this water bottle in March 2023, and last night—June 2025—I noticed “puckering” on the side. The rubber felt “thin,” and it finally failed. Thankfully, it happened over the sink, so no mess (whew!). This is *NOT* a complaint—two years of near-daily use is a solid run. More: I feel a bit silly reviewing a hot water bottle… but we use these constantly—literally every night. To be honest, using a $10 item this often and for this long is pretty impressive. (*Mileage may vary, of course, but ours got **a ton** of use—muscle aches, arthritis, general warmth, and everything in between, by every member of the family for a variety of needs.) Pro tip: To help the bottle last longer, apply **gentle** pressure to the bottle’s sides when filling with hot water. Fill until water is *above* the internal fill line (halfway inside the flared chamber), then tighten the screw cap until sealed— water should remain in the flared chamber when doing this. Once secure, empty the excess water. (Trapped hot air expands inside the bottle, so reducing excess air inside helps prevent long-term damage.) *This review was written by a real person (me!). No incentives were offered or given. I’m just a dude on Amazon with (hopefully) helpful information. Take care!

Comfort In A Bottle
I was so happy to receive this hot water bottle to help treat my chronic abdominal pain, period cramps and muscle soreness. It has become a part of my everyday routine, as it is quite effective. Benefits: I feel instant comfort every time I use this hot water bottle. The warmth helps relax my muscles and provide a steady form of heat when I go to sleep that I’ve found helps me fall asleep faster, as I relax quite quickly. The hot water bottle stays warm for much longer than my homemade hot compresses and is quite comfortable to use sitting up or laying down. It also helps that it’s fluid so it lays and forms comfortably against my body. How To Use: The instructions on the lip state: “Do Not Use Boiling Water Fill Not More Than ⅔ Full And Expel Air Ensure Stopper Is Securely Fixed Store Empty And With Stopper Removed”. It’s clear to advise you not to fill it with boiling water from a kettle, just hot water from the faucet. However, I find that just filling it with just hot water from the faucet does not get it hot enough to my comfort (your comfort level may differ so please try it first). So I usually fill it around ¼ full of hot faucet water and almost ¾ full of water from the kettle that I let steam but never boil to a whistling point. As advised above, it’s important to leave at least ¼ empty at the top in the hot water bottle to allow for pressure changes with the temperature of the water, so I fold that top part over to expel any air before screwing the cap on. I never lay it directly against my skin. I always have my clothing as a barrier between my skin and the hot water bottle to decrease any chance of burns. Storage: Store empty without the stopper in it so it can breathe. I store mine under the sink laying flat with the stopper next to it. Caution: There is a danger in burning yourself when pouring water in from a kettle if it’s just boiled so be sure to pour out some into the sink away from yourself then pour into the hot water bottle to avoid the sudden burst of boiling water that can scald your hand. Of course you can also spill on your hand if you have poor aim or pour too quickly so be sure to be careful and pour very slowly. I’ve read on other websites that using hot kettle water in your hot water bottle will wear it out faster as it is not good for the natural rubber. But as this is the purpose I bought it for, I find that the benefits outweigh that risk. But you may feel differently so just be advised. One warning on the lip states: “Warning: Hot Water Bottles Can Cause Burns Avoid Prolonged Direct Contact With The Skin”. Solid advice. Pros: -Helps Me Sleep -Helps Me Relax -Great Color Selection -Helps Relieve Muscle Soreness -Comfortable to Use Sitting Up or Laying Down -Has Never Leaked/Stopper Has Never Come Loose -Rubber Design Comfortable & Easy to Grip For Adjusting Cons: -Using Hot Kettle Water May Wear It Down Faster -If You Put Too Much Hot Kettle Water in it May Burn You (The Rubber Does Get Quite Hot So Be Careful To Find Your Comfort With Hot Faucet Water/Kettle Water) I have yet to use it with cold water as it is still winter so I’m not sure how it serves as a cold compress. But from what I’ve experienced with using it as a hot compress I feel confident it won’t disappoint.

Great companion for aches & pains or just plain cold
No nasty smell, holds heat perfectly, my favourite water bottle friend for that time of the month. I’ve gotten it really hot too and it never melted, but be aware it is dangerous to get it too hot so don’t pour pure boiling water in it with no cooler water first. One side is a bit warmer than the other, the side with no ridges.

Love the color & the size!
Review 2023: this is an update on my initial review. I loved my first purchase in 2020 so much that I bought a 2nd one which arrived today. Let me state that I know these age and that's why I was buying a 2nd one, and I saw this brand come across again so I snatched it up! In the 3 years I've owned my first Hometop hot water bottle I've been in love. I've had no issues at all. I love it. I primarily use it when I have cramps and I don't want to fall asleep with a heating pad on. It's also portable should I leave the house and want to take that comfort with me for a few hours. Here starts my review for my 2nd one. Quality is down, is the first thing I noticed when I unboxed it. Ugh. The plug is all plastic as was my last one but that one at least had a rubber end. Also what my new one screws into is all plastic. The first one was metal like a hose end, this is in the photos they show as well. I'm going to give it a whirl, I have holiday return to my advantage, but I don't think this one will have the longevity that my initial purchased hot water bottle from Hometop has. Upon receiving my new one I saw reviews that this was the case, I would never have though to look at them since I had a great experience with my 1st purchase. 2020 version was 5 stars, this one I'm rating 3 until it proves it can withstand like my 2020 version. Review 2020: I've always wanted a hot water bottle, there's something so old school about it that I LOVE. However I've always struggled when I read the reviews because I don't want to get that cruddy product that explodes, leaks, etc. Also I've seen the higher ended price tags and that has scared me away. Generally speaking a hot water bottle will likely need to be replaced every few years because they are made from rubber and with all the heat and what not they can degrade by cracking, etc. I didn't want to drop $25 and a few years from now do it all over again. I wanted something with a lower price tag or a longer life---both?! This HomeTop hot water bottle I hope is the ticket! It was on the affordable end, price being pretty right. The size, oh the size, I LOVE it. It's not too big or too small. It's larger in size than a traditional book or DVD case. The rubber is thick enough to be safe but not too thick that the warmth is barely there. I've only had it about a week now but have used it quite a few times as my warm compress for a clogged ear. I was tired of using a heating pad because those are not meant to be laid on but lay on you. Fires, burns...etc BAD BAD stuff. I tried homemade rice packs I had made which were nice but small but heat didn't last too long there. So in comes the hot water bottle! It arrived in a sealed plastic bag with care instructions on the outside. Did it smell? Not really but even if it did, HELLO it's rubber, brand new!!! Just like when you buy new tires for a car. The inside smelled more rubbery than anything but if that's a problem just don't smell the inside! I kind of listened to the directions. You're not to place boiling water IN the hot water bottle, which I get but that's the hottest water one could use to keep it warmer longer.... Our tap water is rather luke warm so I do use my stove top tea kettle to boil up water and I add cold/luke warm water to my hot water bottle before adding the boiling water which evens out to HOT. You burp the air out and screw in the top. I do think there could be issues with the top later because it's just plastic but if it was metal like the closure you screw in then there'd be risks for burns. So you fill (not boiling water!), you burp, you screw the top on and then you shake the bag upside down to check for leaks and get rid of any water that accumulated in the top from being poured in. Voila! From there you are able to enjoy your hot water bottle. This one doesn't come with a cover so I get to enjoy the nice purple, my favorite color. However I was actually disappointed I didn't have a cover when it arrived. I had viewed SO many bottles that I thought it came with one. My bad. Overall I'm no longer disappointed because with more use I've come to realize that a cover could hinder my use. Some fabrics are too thick and the heat takes too long to make it's way when I need it, so a thinner cover would be MY ticket. Though one could benefit from a cover if you're using this as a cuddle bug in bed to warm you or your feet. I read that ones with covers need to be in place before you fill the hot water bottle with water which makes sense, you just run the risk of spilling on them so that would suck. I can't wait to use this more and I will! I get killer cramps every month and require a heating pad for at least 2 days so this baby will surely come in handy! Also when my furbabies find this all warm I suspect I'll have to fight for it or purchase another as none of us are really fond of sharing. As winter creeps in I think a nice hot water bottle on my lap while reading outside would be a nice little treat to keep me and my hands warm. Possibilities are endless! :)

Nice quality!
Perfect! I needed a new hot water bottle, this fit the bill. It turns out I bought this same product 6 years ago, so it lasts a long time. During the winter, I use this a lot to keep my feet warm.
