89280 Narrow Gap Universal Hidden Deck Fasteners, (1 Box of 800)

The clips coming in strips made it 1,000,000% easier install. Hands down the the best alternative composite decking clip out there. Also, the price was definitely right!!!!

Just did 400sqft of decking with these and they really make life easier. Slip in to groove, screw in 90% of the way, twist to rip off the one you just put in, and move on. Why only screw in 90%? If you screw in 100% of the way, the side that isn't in a groove yet, because that board isn't there, angles down and getting the next board in is pretty much impossible. So to make it easier we only screwed the clip in part way before slipping the next board in, then we went back and screwed in the rest of the way. Yes a bit more work but if you set your drill correctly its hard to over-tighten as you race back through finishing them off. The gap is a bit large for my taste, but 3/16 is standard for all sorts of fastening systems and recommended by the manufacturer. We have a darker deck and so the black pretty much blends in, but if you focus you can see these things all over. I say this as if we had a light color deck I'm not sure what I would do. We used this on Fiberon composite for what its worth.

Menards sells these Turbo clips to go with there decking, I needed a lot more so I bought the 800 count off Amazon. Turns out they are very close but not the same dimensions as the Menards ones. I now have 700 clips I need to make make shift spacers to keep my gap the same. and 200 to take off and readjust. Well made, stainless screw, not bad but not name brand Turboclip.
