Several factors to consider may be suction/flow too strong through sweeper, pulling the unit harder onto pool surface. The make up of the pool surface itself. Some more abrasive than others. Maybe the pool layout itself. I find mine stuck at the base of a step from time to time grinding away without backing out. Come to think of it, i might need to replace mine again too :) **Q: Does it fit the mx8 elite?** A: Don’t buy these tires for an MX8 Elite. I have an MX8 Elite. It technically fits but once you start running the pool cleaner with the tires on it, the tires start squeaking and the pool cleaner is clearly struggling to move. I used the tires for a few months and it took longer for the pool cleaner to clean the pool because it was not moving as easily and tires squeaking the whole time. I finally went to an MX8 Elite dealer and purchased the tires. I put them on and immediately no squeaking and the pool cleaner was moving easily through the pool.
