Very good soldering pecil. It is a light one and very easy to handle.

Bought a secondhand WESD51 analog soldering station a while back but the pencil was lost in transit. Arrives new and for a better price than from somewhere like eBay. Lightweight with a comfortable grip, heats up fast, tips are easy to change even when hot (using pliers of course). Made of high-temperature plastic with a melt-resistant silicone cord. Unbeatable weller quality with spare parts and service from the manufacturer.

This is an exact replacement for the PES51 you've inevitably done something horrible to, and costs as much as half of the entire unit. I don't know why the are so pricy except that they can get away with it. It would be my recommendation that if you are seeking to replace your pencil, you should first contact the company to see if you qualify for a warranty replacement, or could otherwise obtain one for less. Obviously if you've burned the insulation or ripped the wires out or done something else foolish, then you are probably saddled with the steep cost. If all you want is a spare, I don't know if the price justifies itself. After a point it's almost more worth spending a little more and buying an entirely new soldering station so everything is equally "new." I don't think Apex Tools now is the same as Apex Tools 20 years ago in terms of survivability, but they do still make a reasonably good product.

Recently developed shorts in my iron and sought out a replacement for my Weller station. This appears to be OEM and connected perfectly. Perhaps I will be able to use it to repair my old one… hmmm

I suddenly needed a replacement for my original soldering pencil as I use it almost every day. I found this one and it is a perfect match for my soldering station. Easy to install and it works great just like the original one. The sleeve holding the solder tips is a bit tight to remove to change out the tips, but an little time will help to work it in. Great buy.

This is a plug-in replacement for the original soldering pencil that came with my temperature controlled soldering station that had failed (element open circuit) after over a decade of use. I have been using this new part for several weeks with the soldering station, and it works just the same as the original one.
