Beautiful, full-spectrum light!! This bulb is very bright, so I don't burn it all the time... but when I really want to see the true colors... trying on clothes, doing crafts or painting, this is the perfect lighting.

The full spectrum light is so natural and bright that for a moment, I forgot what season it was and almost started applying sunscreen indoors. My houseplants, which were previously auditioning for a part in "The Walking Dead," are now thriving and auditioning for "Little Shop of Horrors." Using these bulbs has transformed my living room from a gloomy cave into a space that even a houseplant could mistake for a tropical paradise. I half expect to see a parrot on my shoulder every time I walk into the room. And my productivity? Through the roof! The extra light has convinced my brain that I'm some kind of superhuman, capable of tackling even the most mundane tasks with the enthusiasm of a caffeinated squirrel. Moreover, the psychological benefits are real. It's like my seasonal affective disorder took one look at these bulbs and decided to pack its bags and move to Florida. The warm, inviting glow has made my home the envy of my neighbors, who now congregate like moths to a flame. I might start charging them an entry fee. In conclusion, Chromalux Full Spectrum Light Bulbs are the best thing to happen to Seattle since the invention of the umbrella. If you're tired of winters that feel like a never-ending November and want to turn your home into a beacon of light, these bulbs are your answer. Just don't be surprised if you start to feel a strange urge to wear sunglasses indoors. Been using these for over 10 years!

I don't usually write a bad review. I bought this light bulb for my art work hoping this would give me good color production. Sure, it was not cheap, sure it has a short life, yet I have bought this bulb repeatedly. One day this May, I bumped my hand to the light fixture, my hand hit hard to it, but did not touch the light bulb itself. Surprisingly, the glass portion of this bulb fell off, leaving the base portion in the fixture. First, I thought the light bulb is so fragile. I thought I had to remove the base by turning it carefully. I tried to turn off the electricity, THEN I realized the bulb still creates bright light. Wait, didn't I break the vacuum sealed light bulb? I was shocked to see the bulb was just a disguised halogen lamp, no vacuum sealed bulb as shown in the photos. It took me a while to figure out what actually happened. This bulb is nothing but a halogen lamp placed in a glass bulb with metal socket. I realized that I have been fooled all these months believing that the bulb was specially made to produce the full spectrum light. Well, this time I did not order any replacement for it, instead ordered a LED lamp for my studio. I am happy that I got rid of this scam.

These LED full-spectrum bulbs emit just as beautiful a light as they did when they were incandescent, with less heat, and probably longer life. They're quite expensive, but IMO worth it for not having that miserable greenish or sepia tinge that so many LED screw-in bulbs do. No flickering.

Chromalux 100 watt frosted bulb seems to emit light of a typical 40-60 watt bulb. It is however a warm, soft light that feels gentle on the eyes, which I love. I’m glad I read reviews before purchasing, many reviewers said this is much dimmer than 100 watts. I agree, and it’s good that I didn’t go with 60 or 75 watt bulb as originally intended. I can’t yet speak for bulb longevity or any uplift of energy levels or mood, if we become more energized and/or happier than usual I will increase star rating. But the price is quite high, and it doesn’t light the area as well as desired.
