This is a definite upgrade from the adjustable one I picked up from the depot. I'm using this on my Ribbon Burner forge and with the added gadge it's super easy to get my pressure to the forge from heat to forge weld temps with a simple turn of the knob. Regulator is solid built and the set nut helps keep a max pressure easy to get back to when needed. Definitely recommend for any forge use that you need up to 30 psi to run.

The four is for the looseness of the adjustment. Is feels like it could be shaken out of adjustment pretty easily- I understand the function makes this almost necessary, but the addition of a fitted rubber or nylon washer might fix that.

This regulator is a direct replacement for one that stood by me through all sorts of abuse for over 35 years. You really need to follow the old school rule of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it!" That speaks volumes for this time tested design.

Although a little overkill as a solution, I had to regulate down the propane going to a Haier 24" wide small apartment range stove. The regulator provided with the stove was defective or inadequate. Using this regulator allowed full flow to the burners and oven while properly regulating the pressure so that the stove burners would adjust properly while cooking. PERFECT SOLUTION, so glad I purchased this!

the item that arrived did not match my order, there were materials that were lacking, such as the black top cover for turning less than 2......

I use the valve to adjust propane from 100psi down to 15psi to operate my 1.5 inch scale steam locomotive. This valve allows me to use the 15psi propane into another valve that provides precise control to vary the amount going to the burner in the firebox of the steam locomotive. The setting on the Marshall Excelsior valve remains constant at 15psi throughout all of my runs.
