There was no protection or padding around the metal legs or tops which is probably why everybody has had problems with receiving it damaged. three corners were messed up out of the two desks received, one metal leg was crushed and had to be bent back open to put in the adjustable piece. I will have to glue and clamp the one corner. Luckily the ruined corners were in the back or else i would want new ones. It would be too much of a pain to return especially because i would have to repair the box first. We are avid diy-ers and have repurposed/rehabbed many discarded items so they could have another life. The amount of chip-filling, staining, metal bending, etc. we had to do to these desks to make them usable made me promise myself to never by the cheap new item again.
