Four are always touching and those are the polyurethane wheels like you would see on a set of Rollerblades. The other two are much smaller, rarely ever touch the ground on flat surface unless you are turning so sharply you tip and honestly I outside of that I can't figure out what the two smaller ones are for but they certainly aren't polyurethane. My 135lb girlfriend is only one to test it out so far as its a Christmas present for a four year old. that being said....polyurethane wheels are probably fine on the hardwood but I would imagine the other two much smaller wheels would potentially scrape or scuff in the event the rider gained enough speed then did a really sharp turn and tip and slide across the wood...which is unlikely. **Q: Do you sell replacement parts?** A: I don’t “sell” anything. Turn until very tight. ALTERNATIVELY, you may use a 17mm socket wrench to tighten the nut in the steering wheel column. Please follow the step-by-step directions in the PlasmaCar booklet.
