I can see it being more helpful if I was doing more mouse intensive work so that I was not taking my arm off the pad very much. I found that when it moves out of place, my wrist does not always land in the same spot and I tended to not adjust it when I didn't intend to have my arm on it for long, this causes unintended pressures on my wrist and was not comfortable.
