Buffalo Bills Original Western Cut Big Slab Beef Jerky

This jerky was terrible. Honestly i’ve never had worse. The to piece was heavily marbled with fat, and they were all sticky, like t hey hadn’t spent enough time in the dehydrator. The flavor was okay. Not spicy, not too peppery, a bit sweeter than i prefer but not too bad. If you judge jerky on flavor alone, this gets a solid C. But jerk is verymuch about texture to me, and the texture of this stuff was awful. I even tried sticking it in a dehydrator in the hopes that it would get rid of the rubbery, unchewable texture, but it didn’t really help, it just made it a bit crispy instead If

I love jerky, and when i bought my first bag of this I was hooked. It was the perfect amount of toughness, great balance of sweet/salty. Unfortunately, subsequent bags were not consistent and ranged from great to downright yuck (full of grizzle, fat chunks, extremely dry, minimal flavor, overall poor quality). We ended up throwing away 2 entire bags because of the “off” taste and stopped purchasing. There is a visible difference in the quality of the different batches, i could tell if it was going to be good or not before even opening the bag. I would be a lifelong customer if I could get consistently good bags of this!

Very delicious jerky at a reasonable price. The slabs came all together in a vacuum pack. Tastes and smells fresh. Will definitely be buying again!

I love the format, the texture, the price but the taste is just ok. It needs to be more savory/salty. Its very sweet as it is. Maybe their other flavors are more savory/salty but this one is just ok. I really want to love the brand because most beef jerky is this semi-soft moist stuff that is just horrible.

This stuff is amazing. It taste great, it's not too dry, but not too moist. It's very thin and the package has so much in it. Definitely worth a buy. Can just grab a whole slab out of the package and be on your way. I'll definitely buy more in the future. Update: knocked a star off, because the second time I ordered, while it tasted good, was VERY tough. Almost to the point where it felt stale.

UPDATE 4/17/14: Not impressed. My original review was 3 stars, for the reasons below. After having this for a couple of weeks (received 3/29/14), I am rating down to 2 stars. I would give it 1, but I think it earns an extra star for novelty. Last week I noticed the jerky seemed to have a different flavor, but I couldn't quite pinpoint what it was... When I opened the bag last night, it had definitely spoiled. I store my jerky in closed ziploc bags. This method works great and keeps the jerky from drying out. Never had a problem before, so I'm not sure what happened here... There is an unusual amount of fat on this jerky. Wild Bill's and Buffalo Bill's are just beef, but this is literally a shaved slice of meat, and there are veins of fat and gristle that run through the slabs. Maybe those deposits played a factor and caused the jerky to spoil? I would recommend eating very quickly (less than 14 days) or refrigerating... Previous Review: Not too shabby... It was interesting. The texture was softer, not as tough and chewy as WB's or BB's, which I prefer. To me, it was similar to the texture you would get in Jack Link's original jerky... The taste is similar too--I would rate this one higher, but it's a tight margin. For the record, I tried Buffalo Bill's Original flavor. Overall, it was fun to eat a sheet of beef jerky, so I guess the novelty factor wins out here. I probably wouldn't buy again--Wild Bill's is just too good! :)

I am always looking for deals when it comes to jerky, so I decided to give this one a try… At first I thought it was decent, the very first piece wasn't bad. As i chewed on the second piece i started to realize it was not as good, and spit that piece out. I decide to try another one deeper in the bag, and they just got worse… I threw the rest away. The only way i would recommend this product is if there were a zombie apocalypse, and a serious shortage of food…. This would still be a last resort for me, no thank you!
