After participating in coding week at school, my 8 year old son came home so excited to share with me that he had the chance to play around with a sphero robot and his little eyes lit up. He asked for one for his upcoming birthday and excitedly told me all about it. I bought this with the activity set as he will be able to get more out of the sphero mini. I can’t wait to see his little face when he opens it. Such a great product and it is very refreshing to hear a child these days be so passionate about learning.

Such an incredible gift that was bought for my STEM mad nephew. Fair to say everyone loves it. So educational and so many progressive steps. Really won't grow out of it, he is now 8 and still finding new things to do with it. Worth every penny!

My son (8) is besotted with the ball. I'm not surprised - it's so many things rolled into one. Whether you or your child will feel the same is a bit of an unknown, but I can't see why not! It does everything it says and a bit more. I didn't really consider it would be able to go everywhere an RC car can't! It's a ball, so every direction is possible - no three point turns here ;-) The app itself is very well built - runs excellently and the UI is a joy to use. The control you can have over the ball is incredible. Finally, it's nice to see a product that's actually made well. It's a quality item. In hindsight I probably wouldn't have gone for the full pack - just the ball is more than enough. Overall, a very happy customer, and well done to the designers.

Clever little toy. The app comes with loads of games and features for it. The accessory kit and flashcards are a good way to help you learn to control it, but I can’t say I’m too happy about all those small parts. The video shows the first few seconds of play, which is why my daughter keeps getting it stuck in the corners. Quick tip. The plastic ball is the outer shell. Before you first use it, you need to take it out (it’s rubbery and small, but don’t worry, it’s very hard-wearing), plug it and leave it to charge for a couple of hours, and then put it back in the shell, pair, and play.

Excellent device. Easy to set up and use. The added extras in the kit make for some fun activities.

My granddaughter was over the moon and has not stop playing with it!

After one day just does not work properly. Wasting lot of money, massive regret.

Es mucho más de lo que parece. Como robot y como"coche teledirigido en bola" es muy divertido para jugar,sin entrar aún en el área de aprendizaje de programación en bloques o Python. Tiene varios complementos para hacer un circuito,un juego de bolos...y en la web hay mapas para imprimir y rodarla encima,y fichas para hacer más actividades con temática de golf y fútbol. Para iniciar a los niños en la programación o que puedan practicar en casa cosas que les enseñan en el cole solo encontré los que se hacen llamar robots educativos y que se les montan piezas de lego o incluso módulos de arduino, y luego estaba este robot ( porque es un robot radiocontrol,no es una pelotita). Este lo veo mejor para niños hasta 8 años. Incluso mejor que los que vienen para montarlos...que en mi entorno acaban montando los padres.

Got this for my son for Christmas and promptly spent the next several days dodging it as it executed multiple patterns (programmed by my son) around my living room. Since then the metaphorical shine has worn off of it somewhat, but he keeps coming back to it and overall I feel he more than got my money's worth out of it in the first couple of days. On a side note, I haven't the foggiest what the "thickness" feature I was rating refers to, but I certainly have no complaints about it (never having thought about it in the first place), so what the heck, five stars there.

This Sphero mini ball is a lot of fun. Almost endless options for activities. The activity kit makes this so much more fun, with activity cards and props to use. My 9yo daughter loves it. I would suggest this toy for tech minded kids from 8yo and up. The robotic ball is well made, the app is simple to use. I suggest purchasing the Sphero carry case along with this. Stores everything nicely. Highly recommend the Sphero mini and activity kit.
