First, I had to go to my local dealership and verify my ownership of the vehicle before they gave me the code so I can make a replacement key. Even though this code was free, I still needed to visit the dealer. I did not have access to locksmiths in the area who is willing to cut this key even for cash. Even though I say, it's on me if it does not work. They just would not do it. I guess if I lived somewhere else, perhaps some other locksmiths will do it. Forget the car dealership, they will not touch this either.
