Bose Portable Smart Speaker—With Alexa Voice Control Built in, Silver

This is my third Bose speaker I'm buying. This smart speaker met my expectations. It delivers a very good sound when playing indoors.

Lovely smart speaker looked good and has a good sound. But very difficult to set-up. We was on the verge of sending it back when we got a professional to help us. Definitely not one for somebody with no experience and no tech experience

Superb sound. Very difficult to set up though even when I downloaded the instructions. Love that it can be carried from room to room, garden and further.

This speaker has a fantastic sound , the base is good and crystal clear as it should be , the carry cord handle is solid and comfortable to use and the whole unit feels classy and professional , my only negative is the battery, you have to leave it plugged in if using frequently , because once unplugged that countdown of 12 hrs battery life starts !

I bought an Alexa Amazon Echo a few years ago and have it set up in my lounge. I also have a Roberts with the built in music streaming and a couple of Bluetooth speakers a Bose and a Jawbone. I was after a GOOD smart speaker which had to have Alexa and was portable. I’ve heard Sonos speakers but to me, never sounded as good as Bose, especially with the base. This speaker was for the kitchen. At the top of my list is the quality and this speaker has that with abundance. Then it had to have Alexa as I wanted to put on and off my music quickly and simply. I was put off as some other comments from other reviewers who found the Alexa slow. I was surprised and find no problem with the speed but I sometimes have to repeat myself. I haven’t tested the battery life as I only have it off the dock for about 30mins at a time. The doc is a “must” it makes removal and replacement easy. Even if you just removed the cable once a month I would still go for the dock as it saves the plugging and unplugging and you don’t have to mess with the cable. It’s not too light or too heavy and I love the size. I was bracing myself for the set up but it was very straight forward and easy via the Bose App that I installed for my Bose headphones. It wasn’t cheap I could have saved £10 by shopping elsewhere got it elsewhere but I went for Amazon because of trust and just in case I had to return it. It wasn’t cheap but I am delighted with it. It has Bose quality, it’s portable, it has a good quality (optional) power dock, and has Alexa. This speaker has it all and for anyone looking for these features, this speaker has it all.

Very disappointed overall, and as a so called "Smart" speaker it's a waste of space. It simply will not connect to WiFi and the app which is required to facilitate this is useless and doesn't do what it says it will. When first purchased it did connect to wifi, but only after literally hours of repetitive actions and you-tube trawling. You're given a choice of providers, Google or Alexa, so I chose Google. The speaker informed me all was set up, let's go, I asked for a song, then to be told "Sorry, this device doesn't support Google" Subsequent attempts to reconnect to wifi have proved fruitless. Clearly this is a well known problem, as the forums and youtube posts are awash with this issue. One solution offered is a factory reset, for which you are advised to look for the serial number next to the bar code on the base of the speaker. In common with all instructions given thus far, this was also useless as neither bar code nor serial number are there. It's OK as a Bluetooth speaker, though the battery life is miserable. Save your money, and either buy elsewhere or use one of their non Smart speakers. As I seem to have done inadvertently.

I have been wanting to upgrade my portable speaker for 3 years now but could nor justify the cost. After reading and watching endless research I decided upon Bose as the brand, it is a brand this is very familiar to me and renowned for the high-quality build and sound. I however decided to purchase both the Portable Smart Speaker (newest model) and the Bose SoundLink Revolve+ (Series II) Portable Bluetooth®, Speaker (released in 2017) to physically compare them side by side. Price The Smart speaker £290 vs the Revolve+ which is £280 Size The Smart speaker is slightly larger and not as esthetically attractive as the Revolve+. Connectivity The Smart has Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity which gives access to Alexa and Google assist. The WiFi, however, has a tendency of dropping and there is a clear delay when pausing or starting a track, clearly, this was released too early and will require more firmware updates before it reaches full stability. The Revolve+ offer only Bluetooth which is 100% reliable with no delays. Battery Life The Smart speaker battery life is severely depleted when using WiFi, example with WiFi you will get 3-hour continuous play, whereas using Bluetooth only you get 6-hours. The Revolve+ which only has Bluetooth will return 10 hours of continuous play. Sound The Smart speaker sound is exceptional in terms of bass, the crispness of treble and almost immersive sounds, this is where Bose really excels. The loudness is exceptional and highly unlikely the people buying this unit would use it to its max. The Revolve+ sound whilst solid and adequate it feels compared to the Smart speaker out of date and clearly fallen behind some of its cheaper rivals. Conclusion I decided to keep the Smart speaker based on as a speaker first and foremost it has to be about the sound, the Smart speaker wins that argument hands down. Additionally, I use Siri for all my useless information, therefore, Bluetooth is more than adequate and finally when buying a portable speaker battery life is king, the Smart speaker is adequate in this department providing you do not use the inefficient WiFi. g

Purtroppo devo rendere il prodotto perché l'alimentatore incluso nella confezione è UK e non italiano. Alla Bose non sono riusciti a risolvere la questione inviandomi l'adattatore giusto.. Non mi è piaciuto il servizio post vendita. Mi sa che il prezzo inferiore al sito bose sia dovuto proprio al fatto che gli adattatori inclusi nella confezione siano compatibili solo con le prese in UK.

Fantastic sound quality and easy to use. I was having second thoughts even after purchase but after using the product, I am 100% convinced…. Awesome product
