will the Jameson extension poles work with Corona Pole Saws to extend the reach?

I’m only vaguely familiar with Corona products.  I got enlightened to Jameson stuff from tree professionals that used their stuff exclusively.  From the Corona website, it looks like the pruner heads have the round open insert with the hole for the ferrule pin, á la Jameson.  I couldn’t tell you if the diameters of the ferrules between the two products would match up, nor if the ferrule lock pin would be in the same position in order to lock the poles into position.  Manufacturers generally like exclusive design since they only want to you buy their products, not a competitor’s.  Not sure about the pruner head itself but it looks like their interlock system for their poles is exclusive to their products and not compatible with Jameson. 
 
I do like how the inside radius of the Corona hook is even with the diameter of the opening, perhaps even more so than the Jameson pruner.  I bought the JA-34DP-PKG model with the widest available opening at 1 ¾ inches.  The wider opening makes it easier to both cut slightly larger branches as well as maneuver into position.  The double pulley also makes it easier to cut since it takes less effort to engage the blade, especially since managing the head with 12- to 18-feet of poles up in the air is often awkward.
  
Yes, the Jameson stuff is more expensive with the head at $89.00 and the poles at $130, but their equipment is the cat’s meow when I do use their stuff since I have to finagle the equipment less and just get the job done.  Keep this in mind as to how you plan on using the pruner.  If you can measure the inside diameter of the Corona head and compare it to the outside diameter of the Jameson ferrule as well as the location of the pin interlock, then the odd paring might actually be a match.  Otherwise though, I’d strongly recommend determining how and how often you plan to use the pruner. 
 
The Corona website lists their pruner sets as only going to 14 feet.  It also states that their system is a twist lock, which means it telescopes and probably is not extendable in any way.  While the Jameson pole set will allow you to go higher due to the ability to interlock the poles at will, it may be awkward with more length.  Offhand, if you already have the Corona pruner head, you’re probably stuck with it and 14 feet is as high as you’ll be able to go.  
  
I don’t see a separate pruner head listed on the Corona website; I only saw pruner sets with poles pictured.  One of the great things with Jameson is that you can buy totally separate components.  This makes it great if you’re sticking to a budget like I was.  I have seen the prices fluctuate; the aforementioned JA-34DP-PKG pruner that I bought for $89 has gone as high as $120; I don’t remember the price of the pole set but I know I didn’t pay the current $130 that I see listed.  I bought all of my Jameson stuff through Amazon.  If you’re not in a hurry, keep an eye on the both the price(s) and the sellers and just buy when you can get them for the cheapest cost.

Is it manageable with all 3 six foot poles?  I have 2 poles and the connections are a bit rickety.

Greg - thanks for the question concerning the Jameson FG-6/3F Fiberglass Pole Set. The pole set is certainly manageable with 3 six foot pole sections. Using the 3 six foot sections will provide maximum reach for your tree-trimming and pruning needs. The majority of our customers find handling 3 pole sections are manageable and some can handle more. In the end, it is dependent on the comfortability of each customer but safety is of most importance. Do not attempt to attach more poles you do not feel is safe for your application.
