I have tried turning the knob where it sprays from but it doesn't turn.** A: The knob at the end of the pole should turn but it only adjusts how it sprays: stream or shower. It would rock if it could spray faster/harder but it doesn’t. **Q: what are the dimensions of the sprayer & can you spray insecticides (Bug Killers)??** A: The unit is 13" tall x 6½" wide X 9½" deep and hold 5 liters of liquid. We have 10 small cabins, and we wanted to spray the roofs with Wet and Forget, to remove moss from the shingles. This allowed us to direct the spray into the areas we wanted. We adjusted the flow to a stream, and it was great for our needs. Not to heavy when full, the plastic feels sturdy and substantial. It was wonderful to not have to use a pump sprayer! The little motor is quiet, and seems to be efficient. The first one was ok and worked but it’s spray is terrible. I bought a second one and it leaked right out of the box. I had to repair it and it seemed to work. I first learned the value of the now old adage ‘when all else fails- read the instructions” as it was not clear to me that there was a reverse switch position. Now that I understood that I was on my way. First, I am a big fan of battery powered sprayers. The pumping is a pain and all of the old sprayers fail and then you can’t get the replacement parts. My first one was the Continental BPS-02 purchased here on Amazon. It failed after 2 years but was worth it anyways and I was to purchase another one. They are no longer available. The advantage of that one was that it had an external tank and the cap would also fit the one gallon Weed-B-Gone and Roundup containers and the trigger lent itself well to brief bursts of spray at one weed such as a dandelion for Weed-B-Gone. This Hudson requires a manual turn off/on. The Hudson has a more powerful sprayer which lends itself to use of RoundUp where one can move quickly to the next plants.Problems: 1) The latch for the battery compartment can be tripped inadvertently if you brush the tank against your body. It has happened to me twice and both times the battery compartment came out and the batteries came out. The first time the impact of the case against the ground resulted in one of the battery springs becoming permanently compressed. This meant it didn’t work. With some needle nose pliers I pulled it out. 2) The strap that comes with is just not long enough for my taste.
