Grip-It Ultra Stop Natural Low-Profile Non-Slip Rug Pad for Area Rugs and Runner Rugs, Rug Gripper for Hardwood Floors 5' x 8'

This pad is nice and thin which allows the rug to sit close to the floor without creating a large "lump". It holds the rug quite well, but some shifting occurs after repeated "run-overs" by our dog. It is easy to cut through with scissors, but one needs to be careful if trying to cut a long straight line. One pad was shifted in the manufacturing so that the pattern was not square; meaning, following the line of the latex resulted in a angled rather than a straight cut. A major problem is the strong chemical smell. After leaving it "air-out" in the garage for 4 days, then washing it on the gentle cycle and letting it air dry, a chemical smell could still be detected, especially if the bedroom door was left closed for any length of time. Be cautious if one has asthma, COPD, has any breathing sensitivities, or is still growing and developing the lungs.

Unlike a lot of reviews, this one is written 5 years after I purchased it. I just tossed it, as it was degrading, and I found tons of rubber "dust", and nodules of rubber ground into the wood floor under the carpet. When it starts to go bad, it will make a huge mess, and it probably won't be too obvious if you don't lift the rug.As for it's anti-slip capabilities - meh. I frequently found the rug would slip when one walked fast onto it. I really haven't found any anti-slip pad that doesn't slip, and this was the third one tried, all different brands, from Amazon, having returned the others. I'd have returned this one as being no better than the others, but really just didn't see the point of putting more into it.I specifically had the 4 x 5 pad, under a rug of that size (i.e. almost the entire under-surface of the rug was covered with the pad.

For those that have commented that this does not keep your rug from slipping might be having trouble if your floor has dust and grit. The dirt causes friction which prevents non-slip surface from gripping the floor. I found it worked perfectly in keeping my rug from slipping.

I had an antique braided rug that I did repairs on. It just would not sit flat. I did some research that said to buy natural rubber non slip pads. Price was good here so I tried it. I am very pleased, we took our time and carefully laid it out, then turned dining room table over on rug and pushed it out from center over and over again. It went flat, I left it on over night and voila! It hasn't moved or tripped anyone in weeks. I had done the table trick before but it never stayed... I just love it. big difference from the other type I had tried.... I highly recommend this...

Purchased this to go underneath a runner in my kitchen - it was a little bit too long, but the pad was very easy to trim with a regular pair of scissors. I haven't had any issues at all - the rug is in a high traffic area and I haven't seen much movement at all. Every few weeks I straighten it out, but I think that's because my husband is moving it not because the rug is sliding :) I looked around before deciding on this pad - the price is very good and so is the quality.

I've had this product for about a month and am using it under a 3' x 5' rug over a hardwood floor in my foyer. Initially, the grip was strong and the rug didn't move. Now, I can put a foot down on the rug and slide it. It does still hold enough that people can come and go through the front door.It's okay for the price but only if the gripping strength remains at its present level.

I have used a number of different pads under rugs, from the heavy duty one under the living room rug to this inexpensive one that I purchased for our hallway runner. Given that it gets a lot of foot traffic, I wish I had gotten a better quality one. This pad is probably fine in other dimensions, but the hallway runner size pad just isn't hearty enough to do the job in high traffic areas.

The pad does exactly what it claims to do.There was a thick foam pad under this rug before, so there's less cushioning than previously. I am now used to the difference and am happy with my purchase!

Does it’s job well

Bought several sizes of this same brand to use under some area rugs in the entryway, living room and bedroom. Helpful in preventing area rugs from moving around and from anyone slipping on the edges. Will repurchase.
