Reliable. Easy to set & use
Love these. Used for Xmas lights. This is 3rd one I have purchased. Easy to set up . Easy to set schedules. You can pick different times on/off for every day if you like. First you need to download the app. NB on schedule tab you need to put in times and days to come on. Then times and days to turn off. As two kinda separate lines on the page . And confirm. On first set up and join WiFi. Do this in a socket in same room as your router. Makes WiFi set up and discovery much easier. Then you can unplug it and plug it into whatever room you want to use it. It will remember and work as you set it up. You can set times on off schedules on the app wherever they are plugged in. Even after you have moved them to place you will be using them. If, like me, you have more than one, I recommend writing the name with permanent pen on smart Plug, that correspondes with the name you give each plug in app! Or next year you will have forgotten, I did! Tbh though I found it easy to delete them individually from app. Then set them up as new. Easy to do. I have three now. So now they are marked on plugs to match what I named them on app! They work with alexa. And you dont need a separate hub.

Perfect little gadget, easy to setup, good price
I rarely leave rave reviews for any item but this Tapo Smart Plug is the bees knees. I know this because I have bought other (more expensive smart plugs) and found them to be a nightmare. Either they didn't set up at all or didn't like not having a separate 5ghz wireless internet connection (mine is a combined signal). Tapo is this easy, open the box, open their app (available on the app store), link it to your wireless network, acknowledge the notification in the Alexa app and boom, it's working. It took me less than 3 minutes to set up the second one I bought and about 5 mins to set up the first.

Tapo P100: Solid Smart Plug for Everyday Home Automation
I’ve been using the Tapo P100 Smart Plug for nearly two years now, and I recently added another one to my setup just this March. Over that time, these smart plugs have proven to be reliable, functional, and excellent value for money. The initial setup is straightforward with the Tapo app, and the integration with Google Assistant and Alexa remains smooth, making voice control simple and convenient. What really stands out over the long term is their consistent performance — they rarely lose connection or fail to respond, even after months of daily use. I use them to control various devices around my home, including fans, lamps, and a lava lamp, and the scheduling feature is a game-changer for automating routines and saving energy. The compact design is great because it doesn’t block adjacent sockets, which is a nice space saver. After two years, the build quality still feels solid with no signs of wear or overheating, and the built-in overload protection adds peace of mind. Occasionally, there’s a slight delay of a second or two when turning devices on or off, but it’s never frustrating or frequent enough to be a problem. The recent purchase of an additional plug confirms that I trust this brand and product enough to expand my smart home setup with it. One thing to note is that the Tapo P100 doesn’t have advanced energy monitoring, so if you want detailed power usage stats, you’ll need to look elsewhere. Overall, for everyday smart home convenience on a budget, these plugs hit the sweet spot — reliable, easy to use, and backed by a simple but effective app. Do note though that a smart plug does NOT turn something on and off that has multiple modes and switches it just turns it off at the same wall/plug so something that uses a remote will not work it has to have a single switch that lets current run through it or not.

Tapo so versatile!
Great love these plugs.once you have the app so easy to install and later add another one. It has so many uses around the home: I have 5 of these on the go at the moment. One is connected to the fridge. Why you may ask the fridge you may ask? Well my old fridge broke down so when I had a new one (full size in height) the men who brought it said it has to be left switched off for 2 hrs. They only problem for me was is that the only plug for the switch was behind it and it was so big and heavy i would not have been able to pull it out by myself. To get behind it and switch the plug on. So i had the idea to install a tapo plug before the men put the fridge in place. I made sure it worked. Then, switched it off. Problem solved, I just turned it on after 2 hrs using my phone via the app and left it switched on. I have another one installed on a standard Lamp where the plug is behind the settee and switch on the lamp itself is very hard to reach. So I just use the tapo plug for that. I have another 2 plugs controlling electric oil fires (saves me heating the whole house) one in the bedroom and one I the lounge. I can for i stance switch the one bedroom on even if i'm out somewhere, so that is warmed up before we get home result! Finally my wife has Alzheimer's, so it tends to get out of bed. The middle of the night. So I have an alarm which goes off and senses. If she does get up while i'm asleep. I also, use a tapo plug to switch that off when I'm moving about the bedroom as the alarm would sound, I can be very annoying as it keeps going unless manually switched off. But the tapo plug does a great rate job allow me to control this. What a great invention!

Easy set up
My old smart plug went offline and no longer worked so I bought this one. I’m usually rubbish at setting things up but this was easy, I had downloaded the app from AppStore before it was delivered to save time any once I unboxed it, it literally took me 10mins to get it going .i pressed the (+) symbol to add a device it prompted me to choose what type of device and in this case it was a plug then asked me to name its location then give it a name and in my case it was Garden Lights it then searched for WiFi and I just had to enter wi fi password and it was done . I then set up the timer to turn my garden lights on at 3pm every day and of at 11pm every day. It was so easy to set up and a perfect timer plug for my needs. I highly recommended it.

I have bought two of these smart plugs. They were delivered promptly, and the delivery was fast. The smart plugs are easy to install and function effectively. It also gives a data on how many hours you've used the device connected to the plug. It also helps to turn off automatically when the selected device is fully charged. I bought one first to try and was satisfied with the results. I then went on to buy more. Our power points and extensions are under the table and it required bending down to turn the point off, making it difficult to do so frequently during the day and several times we forgot to turn the point off. Now, we can not only schedule the turn on and off, we can also control it from anywhere.

I’ve been using the TP-Link Tapo Smart WiFi Plug for over 6 months now, mainly to charge my phones. The connection is very reliable, and the app is straightforward and easy to use. Setup was very simple — I had no issues connecting it to my WiFi and app. The build quality and design are excellent. The plug feels sturdy and compact, with no heating problems during use. So far, I haven’t found anything to complain about. It works perfectly. Highly recommended if you want a hassle-free smart plug!

I have a Kasa HS110 which measures & track consumption which worked well 4 many years. Got the Tapo due to the low price. Setup was much easier then Kasa on the Tapo app. So far it has been working well. There is a very small light which is not noticeable without being lit which can be seen during setup (blinks orange & green) and when switch is On in green. There is no orange light when Off like the kasa. Tapo app is easy to use as well like kasa. Hopefully in future Kasa app can recognize the Tapo. Setting up in Goggle is more straight forward & easier then Kasa which has more steps in the app & Google home. It is part of the devices (Tapo is Hall Plug) rather then a linked device (Kasa is Wall Plug), see picture. Hopefully the quality is as good as kasa as some users faced quality issues later during use. Will update if I encounter any.
