Hornby Hobbies The Coca-Cola Christmas Electric Model Train Set HO Track with Remote Controller & US Power Supply R1233, Red

I purchased this set for the base of my Christmas Tree and I am quite pleased with the set. It was easy to assemble the track and to mount the engine and cars into the track with the provide setting tool. The controller is fine for this beginner set, but I hear that the other controllers offered by Hornby would cause to train to run quieter though for me it is not a problem. The paint quality of the engine and cars looks fantastic in person and Santa on the side of the box car look great, looks to be a transfer decal that was well placed on both sides. Axles and rolling assembles all are in fine working order and the tracks slide together easily though with some tight connections to ease together. The track to track transitions are smooth if you take the care to set them evenly together. I will be looking into adding more cars and track expansion sets to this model as time progresses but for now I am very happy with my first Christmas display train set. Nothing is more classic than Christmas trains and the Coca-Cola Santa images. Sorry for not having a photo with the tree set up as I wanted to have a test run of the set before going through the trouble of working around the tree.

I bought this for my Boyfriend as a Christmas gift as he had one when he was a kid and he says he loves it so much!

I had absolutely no idea what the extra plastic piece was for. I had all kinds of trouble putting these on the track. It was only until someone with more experience told me the plastic piece was just for that exact thing. I went through all the instructions 4x over, the box, the online description, the product's website - everything. Nothing lists what the contents actually include or what the plastic piece is for. Quite an oversight, considering this is a great track for a starter newbie.

Dont buy it! Not working correctly..made very cheap ..Doesn’t work properly.

Bought for around a tree. Perfect. Details a lot with full train but engine and. Two cars works well

The design is what appealed to me as I researched for weeks but the tracks no matter how many times I tried do not hold together when cornering. I feel the tracks are too light for the locomotive.

Lasst die Finger davon! Schon das Stecken der Schienen ist nervenaufreibend, da sich die bereits gesteckten Schienen bei der kleinsten Bewegung immer wieder lösen. Wenn ihr die Schienen also nicht fest und dauerhaft fixieren könnt wird schon dieses Thema zum dauerhaften Ärgernis. Wenn ihr es dann trotzdem irgendwie geschafft habt und den Zug auf die Gleise setzt, ist spätestens in der ersten Kurve Schluss, da dann der lange Wagon mit den beiden Coca-Cola-Aufliegern umkippt (selbst bei geringem Tempo). Ohne diesen Wagon schafft der Zug vielleicht die erste Kurve, aber die nächste wird er mit Sicherheit nicht mehr bewältigen, da sich garantiert eine Steckverbindung wieder minimal gelöst hat was schon zum Entgleisen reicht. Für mich ist das tatsächlich für den vorgesehenen Zweck eines Auf - und Abbaus (vor und nach Weihnachten) völlig ungeeignet und qualitativ Murks. Wer dennoch kaufen möchte sollte sich zusätzlich gleich einen entsprechenden Adapter kaufen, denn der gelieferte Stromstecker ist nur für englische Steckdosen geeignet.

It looks great, and the quality is there as it seems to be with all Hornby trains. It's a great looking little train with enough track to be set up nicely around a christmas tree!
