Logan Dust Cover Trimmer

Trimmer worked as described. Easy to use. Excellent results. The only part I would suggest to improve is to describe better where the razors are and that one needs to split them apart which was a bit hard and worry some Maybe you can put some paper or ribbon in between them

Logan has the most recognizable name in the framing business. I have had a Logan 750 mat cutter for many years, never have had an issue with it or in ordering blades or accessories. The dust cover trimmer works as expected with any Logan product- giving clean, crisp and even cuts along the edge. Perfect and reasonably priced.

The Logan Dust Cover Trimmer is a great tool. I wish I had purchased it sooner. I do my own framing for my paintings, and I want my art to look professional. I think I have done a really good job and my framing looked professional before..but this tool makes attaching a paper dust cover look professional EVERY time. In the past, I would have cut the paper to the exact size I needed and then tried to position it precisely in the correct place. Sometimes the paper buckled a bit while I tried to lay it on to fit perfectly from edge to edge. THere is no fix if that happens. I'd either have to remove it and start with another piece or live with it. Now that I have the trimmer, I cut the paper slightly larger than the frame, lay the frame onto the paper, flip it over and make a fast trim. Fast, EVEN, NO BUCKLES, and professional EVERY time!. Definitely worth the investment!! A tool I won't be without now!

Great tool that is used for trimming excess paper from dust blocking paper installation on the backs of canvas. Looks and feels hefty enough to be a genuine product ( harder and harder to find on Amazon these days ) I feel less likely to cut myself, plus this tool leaves a perfect margin from the frame edge that looks great and gives a professional finish. Easy to use, comes with extra blades. I taped my extra blades to the product packaging and slid them in the drawer to keep myself from slicing my fingers and to find them in a snap ( Pun intended ) Happy framing.

This works great once I figured out the additional razor blades were in the device and had to be removed before using. It can take a bit of practice, but it has a nice clean cut for framing your own paintings. Easy to use and a solid metal tool.

The cutter cut the paper with a straight edge on the back of the frame. It saved me from making a mess. Great tool! Recommend it highly!

Be careful that you don’t cut the canvas by pressing down hard. I had to go back and glue a couple of canvases. Use paper backing designed for canvas backing. It really works well.

This is a simple device that makes trimming backing paper on paintings and other similar items a breeze to do. Designed simply, easy to hold and easy to change blades. Note: it comes with 3 blades installed, so you need to remove two before using it. Also, the spacing from the edge of the frame to where the blade cuts was too wide for my taste, so I just cut a piece of mat board 3" long by 1 cm wide and used double sided tape to adhere it to the side wall of the trimmer that slides along the side of the frame, so it made the trimmer cut the paper a little closer to the edge of the frame. Works great, and if I ever needed a wider space I could easily remove my mat board spacer and re-apply it again later for narrower cuts. I highly recommend this trimmer; it will save you a lot of time and make your paper edges even and perfect.

A very practical tool for artists that do their own framing. Not always easy to do your own dust cover that is well trimmed, this tool does it all professionally. Although Logan products might be a little more expensive, you do get what you pay for. I highly recommend this product.

4.8* WHY: The design of this trimmer can strip off trim + paint as one pulls the blade towards oneself. The blade could be a little more exposed - there is a "closed-safe" feature - when in use. The price is rather expensive I thought for what is basically a upgraded glorified utility knife. I have seen even more expensive prices quoted for the same item, but still I'm cringing. Expectations: Cut a clean neat line through the Kraft paper to ensure a beauty look to the back of my picture frames. Reality: It takes practise to get the right angle and pressure so don't test the first couple of times on your masterpieces!! Certainly 90degree angle flush with the frame, but it's rather like doing a wheelie on a motorbike .. the blade dips down, while the back (rear wheel ;) ) lifts up ... but not too much otherwise you loose contact with the frame edge and your cutting line runs skew! SIGH. Used double sided tape and Kraft paper and found that (with patience), the miscuts can be removed with some gentle rubbing and tacky tape. The grooves in the wood frame .. well I guess lesson learnt. NOT for the faint of heart - but I'm happy to recommend the Logan Trimmer as it will do the job and you will be lucky to find the F60 at a lower price. Delivery is not PRIME but received within 12days (and there was Easter in between!) Happy cutting :)
