Do you need to replace the containers or can they just be cleaned and reused?

I have my trap on an outdoor utility sink in a playground. Every 6 months I empty the bottle of sand, rinse it out and reuse the bottle. It saves my drain, which is mostly vertical, being in FL which is only a few feet above sea level. I am buying another for the mop sink indoors because that has a lot of sand also from the playground. It is so much easier to dump the bottle than to snake out 50 ft of sewer drain! No back ups since I installed this 2 years ago. It is worth the cost.

Can this be used as a grease trap?

I doubt it but you should ask somebody with more knowledge. Clay sinks and grease floats. It traps clay well.

How long does it take to fill the bottle? I'm a potter .

That depends entirely on the volume of clay you’re washing down the drain. I would try to keep that at a minimum. There are other types of traps meant for higher volume, but they are not as convenient to clean.

can this be used in a kitchen sink with a garbage disposal?

After looking at my Gleco on a utility sink and my kitchen sink garbage disposal it could be done. Cleco Trap is designed to capture heavy objects like plaster. I do not see a reason to do this. It is not going to capture the kind of stuff I put in the garbage disposal.

Recommend for sediment

Super easy to change them out. I use it for my pottery glaze room’s sink and it collects a ton of material and saves my pipes from sediment. Highly recommend. The photo is after about 8 months ish, this is from a one person studio.

Replacement Gleco Traps Will Not Seal in Odors or Liquids

What a joke! If you choose to buy this replacement set, know that it does not contain the necessary O-rings to seal the jar. When I called the company, I was offered the option of purchasing O-rings; the price adds on over half the cost of the jars. The jars themselves are great, a good-quality product; we've used them for years under our pottery/clay/glaze sink. It would be nice if the description let the buyer know the O-rings are not part of the set, even though they come with the original system of jars and pipes.
