FEATURES: For use only where a strong joint is not requiredBonds wood, foam and fiberglassMay be used for grain filling by applying with plastic spongeBalsa tint for use under clear covering filmYOU WILL RECEIVE: Deluxe Materials 8.1fl oz (240ml) bottle of Balsa Tint Model Litelight weight Filler Review: Yes, its DRY, but add just a tiny bit of water and WOW - I work on/restore small ship models, some are wood or balsa. I needed to patch a flat deck and add material to the back end of a ships smokestack (actually 3). The ship is 18 inches long from a kit built in 1935. I show a down view of a sample of what I had to do. This stuff is amazing. I've never used a filler...an old school dude, but I needed help and I knew there are so many new great things out there that I wish I had in 1960s! So I took the advice of another positive reviewer who hated it, played with it, then RAVED about it. I thank him for allowing me to skip the first two and go directly to success part. Its a big jar full of what seems like a damp powder kinda clumped together, but soft & smooth. So I scooped out a pea size piece, placed it on a dish and with a toothpick dropped a SINGLE drop of water on it. It ate it up and turned into a smooth paste. I used a popsicle stick one end filed down flat like a spatula and scooped some of it up and laid it down on that funnel you see. From top to bottom (you are seeing it from the top). The narrow back end of the smokestack was flat when it should have come to a point. It was easy to apply, it stuck (rather it grabbed) to the surface, it smoothed and worked easily...and better yet when it dried, it was HARD but then it sanded so easy AND DIDN'T BREAK OFF! Now my parts are never handled so weighty connections might be a problem, BUT....it is HARD when it dries and it dried somewhat quickly and you don't want to work it to long as its drying fast so work a small area til you're comfortable. Adding more water makes it thinner and takes longer to dry and harder to mold I would guess. But when its dry, have at it. You don't need a heavy grit that's for sure. I had to get into small spaces where I couldn't apply much pressure, so even the lightest sanding is successful. Water triggers its hardening so don't add it in the jar!!!! Read that other reviewers positive post....It was PERFECT for what I Needed!!! I've never written a review, but this product deserved it! Review: Amazing balsa filler - This stuff is amazing Sands out easy. Great result.

Works well but needed water.
It works as expected. It was very dry initially but I added some water and stirred it up and then it would stick where it was placed.

A new product to me and I like it.
I only heard of this product recently, although I believe it's been around for a while. It's very lightweight -- in fact, it seems like it's TOO light when you apply it, although it dries surprisingly hard, yet sands easily. For use in filling gaps and dents in balsa, that is ideal -- you don't want a filler that's harder than the surrounding balsa. It also adheres way better, once dry, than you would guess upon initial application. It's easy to smooth out, like for a fillet, and in most respects seems to perform better than vinyl spackle. It's not cheap, so I would use it where the product advantages are better than vinyl spackle.

Product is fresh in the sealed container.
Arrived on time, well packed and appears to be usable for filling in nicks on balsa wood.
