WORX WG252 20V 2-in-1 Attachment Capable Hedge Trimmer

I like this trimmer. It is fine for doing light duty trimming in areas that you could not reach with a pole. I chose this brand because I already had a couple of old Worx batteries from a 6 year old lawn trimmer. The batteries are the same although they've been updated in their labeling a bit. The charger is significantly different, which is good, because that old wall wart charger took a long time to charge a battery. I was a bit worried because my lawn trimmer would go through batteries pretty quick, and I'm still not sure this trimmer would work well with only one battery. One battery was enough for my testing, but I wouldn't expect it to last more than 30 minutes with constant trimming however. Honestly, next to my "Brand X" 18V cordless hedge trimmer, this Worx looks and sounds a little underpowered. Of course the "Brand X" is a hand trimmer, and not on a pole. The pole version of that brand's trimmer may be lighter duty as well. The Worx did OK actually cutting, but just looking at it, I can see that it would have its limitations. The trim head is easy to adjust and goes from 90 degrees down to 45 degrees up (135 degree range). The plastic "scabbard" has a mounting hole for the wall so you can use it to hang the trimmer head while not in use. I guess you hang the pole on a hook then. I didn't see anything in the box for hanging that. I agree with what I read in other reviews. It does get heavy after a while, and initially the pole on mine wouldn't stay extended either. I was able to tighten it up with a screwdriver and a allen wrench. If you over tighten it (like I did), you won't be able to move the orange release lever, but after loosening it enough to work the lever, it still was able to grip the pole tightly and not move while in use. I also agree that a short handle attachment to make this a light duty hand trimmer would have been very nice. It may be a bit underpowered to use as hand trimmer, but it is notably lighter than my "Brand X", and I think it would have made a nice light trimmer (light duty and light weight). Also as others have said, there is no grab handle, which is a real head scratcher since the grass timmer has an adjustable grab handle and it is not nearly as long. The back handle does rotate, but I found no use for that. It was easier just to rotate my grip. One thing I didn't like about this trimmer that I didn't see mentioned much is that the trigger can get hung up where it needs a more grip strength to keep it pressed than I would like. Overall though, its pretty nice and got the job done.

This is a game changer compared to the old way of trimming hedges. However, if you have a lot of mature shrubs like I do, be prepared for an arm workout. When fully extended it is heavy and a little off balance, but does not affect its function. It feels safe to handle. I operated it for over an hour an a half with no battery issues. It cut through holly bushes, rose bushes, Indian hawthorn, and a few flowering shrubs. I’m very pleased with it, but my shoulders and arms are sore.

I bought this last year so this is my second season using it. It works really well and the battery really lasts and recharges quickly. I also like that you can adjust the position. I cleaned up overgrown shrubs and weeds quickly. Definitely worth it. The only negative for me, which may just be a me issue, is that it starts to feel really heavy after about 15 minutes. I would definitely recommend it and buy it again anyway but I'm mentioning this in case it's important for someone.

This thing is awesome but really heavy to maneuver around tall shrubbery and bushes. All in all for the money and if you have a small yard it gets the job done 🤗🤗🤗

Just got this last week and today was the 1st day to try it.. We have high bushes that need a long reach. Decided on Worx because I have the edger which I am truly pleased with. The good: Full extension came out to 8', which helped a lot. The option of changing the blade angles also helped a lot. I like that its battery operated - Cut too many cords in the past. The bad: The 20 volt 2 amp battery doesn't seem to have enough power to cut the thicker branches. Had to get out my electric trimmer. (Cord again, yuk!) The battery itself lasted Ok. I also used my trimmer batteries. Same type. The hand grip ripped apart after an hour. Didn't last long if it rubs against other branches. It is something that is needed, since the poles get hot from the sun. The weight - It is heavy, especially at full extension. I don't think my wife could do it. Not sure what can be done about this. Wish I could be more positive about it. We only cut the bushes twice a year, so we'll keep it and deal with the negatives. I will make another hand grip for it.

While it definitely is not light, it is by far the easiest to handle of the many options we looked at. Have already used it on our two Dwarf Pomegranate bushes, making an almost impossible task doable, albeit a little strenuous. The ability to angle the head, rotate it in relation to the handle and extend have made it already quite useful around our yard. We did also order a pair of 4.0Ah batteries, which provides very reasonable work times with it

This is a quality product. It was great for trimming the privet hedge. I do wish it came with a harness because at the 11’ length it is harder to balance it. The flexibility to rotate the blade angle and lengthen the pole is helpful. I have another WORX product and it reliable.

I have to laugh at some of the reviews that there first complaint is "ITS TO HEAVY DO NOT BUY ". To those i say then use a gas powered 8 foot reach and see how long you will last with that one , you have a gas motor and blade that is much larger to deal with. It is a great machine , ok so you might need two batteries but no big deal , it does the job ! I have over 200 feet of cedar hedge that is up to 14 feet high and 10 feet width so the light weight WORX is perfect for sore arms,,,, as a warning make sure you use a blade oil before first use and after a few uses to keep it sharp. I didnt expect a strap to come with it but since its lighter to hold 14 feet in the air i have no issues even with my sore hands with age. For the price of this machine it was a no brainer, , perfect , i expect a few years trouble free like any battery opporated unit,,,,sure cheaper than what i paid for a gas unit at $900

Despite what Rufus claims there is no shoulder strap with this model. The shoulder strap I believe that the shoulder strap comes with the wg252s. Yes it is top heavy, because the weight is in the cutting tool. I used it for the first time and found it worked great for what it is. Trimmed my cedar hedge, top and sides and when I was done the battery still shows full change. My hedge is about 30 feet in length. I'm not sure if having a shoulder strap would help with it being top heavy, but I am still recommending this trimmer. Very satisfied with this product. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a pole hedge trimmer.
