It strikes a marvelous balance of being able to just throw a deck together and try it (and it actually works) while also being able to dive in super deep and polish an idea to perfection to hone an incredible deck. The best part is that it's cooperative, so no matter how good or bad you are, all of the players are working together to get things done in the end. I've gotten dozens of plays out of just this core game without any expansions and there are times I'll go back to the basics and just play from cards out of the core box. There are so many ideas I want to try and I can't wait to play them all. The three scenarios in this box are challenging without being impossible with the player cards available and they give you plenty of options to adjust the difficulty. A majority of the player cards are absolutely relevant even with nearly four dozen expansions out there. Almost all of them still see play in the biggest baddest decks possible so they aren't going to start collecting dust as soon as you get the latest expansion. I like this game so much, I waited for the price to come down so I could buy a second copy for multi-group game nights. In short, I'd recommend it.
