There is a fold down carrying handle located in the lid for secure and easy transportation.Within the box there is a comprehensive full colour manual describing what's included in the kit, along with various ways to bake your clay. There are also many examples of different models you can create using the included clay, tools and accessories.There are five tools included, each has a different purpose for sculpting your creations. There are twelve packs of different coloured clay included in the box, each is sealed in it's own plastic wrapper so there is no cross contamination. There are also two bags of various chromed metal and plastic clips included for jewellery making or to hang your models from.The included clay is non toxic, non sticky and easy to work with, the colours are clean and bright, the colours do not bleed from one clay to another when placed side by side. What's great about the clay is that it doesn't stick to your hands and fingers like the old fashion plasticine used to.This is a great starter kit for children or adults alike. It's good to know that it's claimed the clay is non toxic so if a child should put their fingers in their mouth whilst using the clay or a pet should chew on it, then it shouldn't cause any problems (according to the manufacturers).The clay itself is easy to work with using the provided tools, if a mistake is made then just roll the clay in your hands and start again. Once you have completed your model you can bake the clay using a variety of different methods. My personal favoured way is to pop the model into our pre-heated household oven at 120c for 15 to 30 minutes maybe slightly longer depending on the models size. This will harden the clay, although it doesn't fully harden for at least 24 hours. The other methods of hardening the clay are by placing the model within a box then using a hair drier to slowly bake the clay. The other method is to place the clay in boiling water for 10-20 minutes, it's suggested to use purified water so you don't get calcium build-up on your model which could occur if you are in a hard water area?As mentioned above, this is a comprehensive starter kit which gives you everything you need. There is enough clay here to allow you to create dozens of small models. My daughter made a mushroom house that was shown in the instructions, and I made an angel from a photo found online. Everything comes in a plastic storage box, including 24 colours of clay, a set of tools and accessories for making key-rings, earrings, a ring and hair clips.This is the first time using clay like this, so I don't know how it compares to others... after 15 minutes trial and error, we soon started having some success. The clay is very pliable, and didn't show any signs of drying out while in use. The pliability means it is easy to make shapes, but also difficult to join pieces together without squashing the pieces.There are several options for drying/setting the models... oven, hair dryer or in boiling water. Boiling water seems a bit weird, and there is a warning about needing to clean your oven after (though most people seem to take this option)... I picked the hair dryer, because no cleaning, and only 5 minutes versus 30 minutes in the oven. I lined a small cardboard box with kitchen foil and heated for 5 minutes with a hairdryer... 24 hours later the models were pretty hard, but you could still mark with a fingernail, so I repeated with the hairdryer.Each of the two models we made weigh 18 grams, and each clay bar weighs about 20g, so you can theoretically make 24 models of this size.
