Four years after he was presumed dead, Derrick Storm - the man who made Richard Castle a perennial bestseller - is back in this rip-roaring, full-length thriller. From Tokyo, to London, to Johannesburg, high-level bankers are being gruesomely tortured and murdered. The killer, caught in a fleeting glimpse on a surveillance camera, has been described as a psychopath with an eye patch. And that means Gregor Volkov, Derrick Storm's old nemesis, has returned. Desperate to figure out who Volkov is working for and why, the CIA calls on the one man who can match Volkov's strength and cunning--Derrick Storm. With the help of a beautiful and mysterious foreign agent--with whom Storm is becoming romantically and professionally entangled--he discovers that Volkov's treachery has embroiled a wealthy hedge-fund manager and a U.S. senator. In a heated race against time, Storm chases Volkov's shadow from Paris, to the lair of a computer genius in Iowa, to the streets of Manhattan, then through a bullet-riddled car chase on the New Jersey Turnpike. In the process, Storm uncovers a plot that could destroy the global economy - unleashing untold chaos - which only he can stop. Review: 'Castle' does it again - When I saw we were finally getting a proper Derrick Storm book (not a graphic novel or one of those e-thingys) I was delighted and read the book from cover to cover in one sitting. As a fan of the Castle TV show, I was initially perplexed at the dedication, but this made sense after seeing the Season 5 two parter. Anyway, the book (which is why we are here). Like the Nikki Heat books, it is such an easy read and that's not a bad thing. Sometimes you want a deep and meaningful, thought-provoking read... other times you want pure escapism and that is what 'Castle' delivers each and every time. The book is well written and Derrick Storm (who in my head is basically Nathan Fillion playing Malcolm Reynolds) is a very entertaining character, though perhaps not as engaging as Nikki Heat. There is a wonderful attention to detail in this book and it reads as an homage to pretty much very spy film/novel, but at the same time manages to stand up as a work in its right. Granted, some of it shameless; such as Storm's meeting with one of New York's finest ( I shall say no more, but I think we all saw it coming) Given the comedic nature of Castle, this book could easy have wound being slightly more in the direction of Austin Powers than James Bond, but thankfully this does not occur. Hopefully we will get more Derrick Storm books in the future, because I think Storm as a character has a little more mileage in him yet. Review: I read all the Nikki Heat novels and loved them, so I decided to give Derrick Storm ... - I'm going to start by saying I am a big fan of the show Castle. I read all the Nikki Heat novels and loved them, so I decided to give Derrick Storm a chance. The first Storm book I read was "Ultimate Storm", which collects the first three novels of the Storm series. They were a quick read that I enjoyed very much. With "Storm Front", however, it wasn't until I had gone through the first third of the novel that I finally got hooked on the story. But from that moment on, I really liked it and ended up struggling to put the book down. So I would say this book is another must-have to any true Castle fan.

Awesome!
Loved this full-length Derrick Storm book. Unlike other reviewers I don't have car knowledge, so the book wasn't spoiled by any inaccuracies there, and I just approached the book as it's meant to be - a work of FICTION, to be enjoyed as fun and not taken seriously. Also loved the appearance of Nikki Heat etc, and the names from Castle series - lovely to have the tie-ins. Definitely recommend this book for Castle fans who've wondered what the Derrick Storm books would be like, and who can enjoy it as a bit of fun fiction. Can't wait to read the next!

Boring and unbelievable
I have tried very hard to like this book after all they are very popular, but I hate to say it failed for me in so many ways. The writing style is lazy and simplistic. The main character/Hero is just too good to be true. Secondary characters are pulled out of the how to write characters to make your main character loom good hand book, they aren't even 2 dimensional flat and boring is being generous. I gave it 3 stars because I don't believe so many others can be wrong maybe it's just me. I won't be bothering with this author again.

Surprisingly good.
If you love the Castle programme or associated Nikki Heat books this will slot in nicely. It’s well written with a equal measure of action and romance. I’ll be buying the 2nd book to see what other adventures Derrick Storm gets up to.

I love Castle and all the little crossreferences, so these books are a treat. Easy to read, entertaining froth.

Castle's Storm Front is the Best Ride of Bond-Like Fun and Hilarious Romance
I noticed Storm Front on display at my local library and I was intrigued to listen to it on audio CD because I was enduring long commutes. I didn't expect to enjoy the ride I got from this story as much as I did. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality caliber of the writing. I was a fan of the TV series, Castle, especially the first season. The character's edge of Beckett noticeably changed thought by season two and if truth be told I was a little disappointed in the softening edge that she became after season one. Still I picked the show back up a couple of seasons later and began to enjoy the cat and mouse romance written around the central murder drama. In particularly, I was attracted to the writing of Terence Paul Winter. His Castle story ideas were fresh, always with an original angle and always came with a funny, edgy repertoire of plot. This is what comes through in Storm Front. Who's writing this story…? I don't know. I do suspect a name or two, as hinted in the story's acknowledgement and guest appearances of bestselling authors on Castle. Nevertheless, the story doesn't disappoint. It begins with high profile murder, on a global scale. I hadn't read the previous Derrick Storm novels, and so I entered this tale's story without a familiar history except for what was referenced in Castle's story in the television series. Derrick Storm is resurrected thanks to the underpinnings of the CIA in this story. Storm is delightfully funny in a James Bond type of fashion and appeal. He follows the murders centered on high finance and international trade. The villain is apparently an old nemesis who has somehow survived a previous death event orchestrated by the story's strong hero, Storm. Not only do we travel around the world in this tale, but we also meet so many characters in between that are newly entertaining and so much fun to engage with in the story. These novels have found another fan; I will be seeking out the former stories and the continuing tales of Derrick Storm. It's such a great distraction and oh so much fun to just read about and enjoy! What better way to escape the real life complications of one's present day drama than to delve inside this dark and delightful tale of murder and espionage? This story gets all 5 stars. The writing is truly fun and engaging. It's been a great commute escape that I’ve had enduring the infamous sig-alerts of Los Angeles traffic. I’m very much looking forward to the next Derrick Storm novel!
