I don't ordinarily write product reviews very often, but I wanted to write one for this case so as to disabuse potential buyers of some concerns they might have. The short version is: if you're on the fence, my opinion is you should take the plunge without any hesitation.First, I was really reluctant to put a case on a phone this big. It's already so big that jeans pockets are an issue, and adding any mass whatsoever seemed like it would only be a problem. And it's true, it fits even less well in my jeans pockets now. However, I've found that given this phone's size, I've already adapted my habits by keeping it in certain pockets (overcoat pocket, suit jacket pocket, shoulder bag pockets), and in the places that are normally big enough to accommodate the phone in the first place, this case doesn't create any issue at all with size.Secondly, there is just something about this case that makes the phone feel complete. Like the 1520 belongs in a folio of some kind. It's lightweight and compact but it has a really nice texture and is made of a surprisingly high-quality-feeling material for the price. The phone actually looks and feels better in this case. In fact, it has a very handsome look and I think looks better IRL than it actually does in the images. The fit is nearly perfect.Finally, and most importantly, I think, this case actually makes the phone EASIER to handle. That may seem counterintuitive. You may have experienced these issues yourself, unless you have especially large hands (I do not), but there are a few hazards to handling a phone this size: for one, it's REALLY easy to accidentally hit buttons on the screen when trying to pick the phone up or put it down. Same with the buttons on the side. Trying to grab this thing with one hand has led me to pick up calls I wanted to ignore, to ignore calls I wanted to pick up, to open applications I wasn't trying to use, to activate the emergency call screen, and to open up the camera. Having this case has actually made it easier to avoid that.I think the thing is that this phone is really just a two-hands device, and this case forces you to get into the habit of using it that way. And once you do, it's just more pleasant to use (and the 1520 was already a pleasure to use before, IMO). It also gives you lots of real estate to grab that ISN'T on the phone itself (you can pick it up by the front or back flaps, if need be, without any fear of stretching or tearing the material) without accidentally mashing a button or touching the screen. It also makes it much easier to lay the phone on a surface and use it one-handed that way, at a very slight angle.And if your hands ARE big enough to use this phone one-handed without any annoyances, I can't imagine that adding the mass of this case would change that. It's slim enough.Here are the only reasons this case does not get five stars: (1) The stand-up feature is just what you see in the image. That's the only position, and the only thing holding it that way is tension between the edge of the case and the flap. Multiple positions or a notch in the flap to make it steadier would have been good, but it works fine as it is nonetheless; (2) The front flap doesn't have any kind of magnetic or other means of actually sticking itself to the front of the phone, the way you see with some custom-fit or first-party cases (like on the iPad or Surface). However, it does have enough heft that it always lays flat on the screen when the phone is set down (i.e., it's not some cheap fabric where the front flap won't even rest flush with the phone). Again, this is a minor quibble, especially when you consider that the Nokia brand case is no longer available and wasn't supposed to be very good to begin with, and that there really just aren't many case options for this phone.All in all, I'm very happy with this case and would recommend to any 1520 owner that they pick one up if they're considering it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Not perfect, but fairly close *by G***N on Reviewed in the United States on January 16, 2014* Given the size of the phone and my intended use (to replace both my Lumia 920 and my Surface RT), I needed a case that would serve a few functions:1. I wanted protection for as much of the phone as possible2. I wanted to have a way to keep the camera hump from resting directly on a surface3. I bought this phone in yellow, so I wanted to be able to enjoy the colour!4. I wanted the case to facilitate watching video on the phone without needing to hold it in my hand5. The phone is rather large, so I didn't want to add too much bulkThis case strikes a good balance. I have found the protection to be good, and I expect it to keep the phone safe in the event of a minor fall. I certainly can't expect the level of impact and shock protection of something like an Otterbox, but I also like that it doesn't add a lot of bulk to an otherwise large (but slim) device. I can easily rest the phone face down or face up without worrying about either the screen or the camera bump, and the case doesn't interfere with wireless charging at all.Since my phone is yellow, I opted for the brown case. I've found it to compliment the phone well, and I don't find that all of the phone colour is obscured by the case. A small touch - for me, at least - is that the interior of the case, including the plastic shell is taupe-ish, and with the taupe theme on my phone and shade of brown on the exterior, creates an overall warm and appealing look.I have found, however, that using the case as a stand only provides one usable angle. Perhaps it's just not firm enough to hold it more upright. This isn't a problem, per se, but is something that would prevent me from giving the case a five-star rating.One other reviewer commented that closing the flip before you lock the phone will cause some of the capacitive buttons to activate. This happened with me as well, but it isn't an issue with the case. Rather, it highlights just how well Nokia's "super-sensitive touch" works. If you set the touch screen sensitivity to normal (default setting out of the box is high), you can close the flip without anything being activated.All in all, I highly recommend this case. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice case, not too much bulk, adds some weight *by B***B on Reviewed in the United States on April 11, 2014* I like this case. The material looks like quality, and has a good feel. Though it doesn't add much visual bulk to the case, it does add some weight. Most likely this is due to the plating in the flap cover, which is added for protection so nothing pierces through to the display. The inner cover is a nice felt material so it is smooth on the display as well.What keeps this from perfect, but not bad enough to take it down to less than four stars:1-wish the plastic insert inside matched the color of the cover. I got the black and pink versions, both have the grey insert to match the felt.2-wish the kickstand feature had some sort of grooving for safer holding. You rest the plastic insert against the flat inner cover, with the weight of the phone and friction of the two materials holding it in place. A little indent would have given a better hold and been less worrisome it might slip.3-while the materials look and feel good, it's basically super glued together. This isn't necessarily bad, but I do wonder how long it will hold. Given the way the kickstand works, only half of the plastic insert is glued to the plastic holder. Pull on the corners a little and you can see it wasn't fully secured...so it could come loose.For now though, solid case. I wanted something to ensure this massive screen doesn't get dinged up when I put my phone in my pocket or on my desk.
