After a lengthy search I picked the 5501. I feel I picked well and really enjoy shooting and have gotten quite good at 20 yds. Gun sighting is pretty accurate and had to adjust slightly up for best hits. Since I've never fired ANY gun in my life the blowback works but I have no way to judge how accurate it is to a real weapon. On to the packaging... Box looked like it was open, the plastic was ripped off the cardboard backing and the gun and contents were loose rattling all over the box with just a couple of bubble bags as protection (Inspection?) Gun seems fine but just wanted to mention because it seems to have happened to other purchasers and other brands as well. (redesign?) Good first choice. U P D A T E: After about 250 shots I thought the gun was jamming but it turns out after each shot it decocks and you have to cock the barrel AGAIN basically turning into a single shot. After re-reading the negative reviews it seems that it is the knock on this gun and more common than I wanted to believe and hit or miss on getting one that will actually keep shooting after some use. Pissed is a word I'm feeling and since I CAN'T return to desertcart I'll most likely have to pay shipping back/forth to Daisy to get a $60 item repaired. What a scam. UPDATE 6/12/20: I contacted Daisy around 2am explaining my problem and asking for advise on how to refund or replace gun. and was waiting on a reply. In the meantime after trying a few more misfire shots, the CO2 cartridge was empty. Still in a pissed of mood I popped in another CO2 cart and low and behold gun works as it should. Later in the afternoon I get my reply from Paula at Daisy. They where going to replace my gun free of charge! I informed her that the gun is now working as it should so I would keep the one I had. She then offered to send me the O-rings for that model in case I needed them in the future. To me that is taking care of the customer and class customer service. I have raised my rating back to 5 stars. I hope my experience helps anyone that might have trouble with misfires, might as simple a fix as your CO2 is low! Did for me Review: Great value, well made, made in Japan - I don't shoot bbs out of my Co2 bb guns. I enjoy locking the bb pusher in load mode so the slide stop is disengaged. This allows it to fire like a pop gun, or a blank gun. Super fun. You can play cops and robbers with a friend or whatever. Shoot at the bad guys when watching a movie. The blowback action is mandatory for a pop gun. This inexpensive Daisy can hold it's own with replica pistols costing 2x more in terms of good loud POP and recoil feel. The weight is spot on. It has a de cocking lever so you can rack the slide in between blasting at movie villians. It will also function by removing the bb magazine, but the grip is too short that way.
