The Bible for structural engineers
I've always used Roark for reference in my role as a structural engineer so decided to get the latest edition. As someone whose used it in electronic format, it's a little surprising by the size of the text book. All the stuff from the 7th edition (which I use) is there. Not much to add really, essential for all mechanical engineers.

This textbook was required for my engineering course and is considered a go-to reference in the field. It’s not light reading, but it’s incredibly comprehensive and detailed. Every type of load case and structural problem seems to be covered. Definitely a must-have for anyone studying or working in mechanical or structural engineering.

This was, is and always will be the bible for mechanical/structural engineers. The content is very similar to the previous edition and an upgrade from 8e or below is not essential for what is actually in the book. my main difference for this version is actually the new straight formatting of the tables (i.e. no more turning the book sideways to read the tables). The tables is where I spend 99% of my time in and the reading of the tables is hugely improved by this feature. A final nice to have is the slight colouring that makes the viewing a bit more attractive.

My Strength of Materials prof recommended we get this and he is always right (as annoying as that is). The data in this book is too valuable not to have on hand and offline. It is definitely going to reduce my stress during this course.

Libro di buona fattura, pagine lucide e a colori. Mi ritengo pienamente soddisfatto, ha moltissime formule per i calcoli strutturali, e pagine su pagine di dati tabulati. Libro molto completo e che cita tutte le fonti semmai si volesse approfondire la provenienza di alcuni dati o di una certa formula. Unico neo è che le unità utilizzate sono quelle imperiali, ma molte formule sono comunque valide anche in metriche, bisogna solo prestare un attimo di attenzione.
