Set the scale to grams, place a dollar bill on the scale of it the scale reads 1.0 grams scale is celebrated. **Q: Why doesn't this scale recognize an empty #3 capsule that weighs .05g? Sometimes it does, but most times, not.** A: It is not reliable with such small weights. I think such scales come with a minimum starting weight that is often greater than their minimal increment. I threw this away and got a more sensitive one. **Q: How is it as a jewelry scale?** A: Excellent. Very accurate. Especially since it reads to the .01 **Q: Mine won't register any weight, and has a circle with a dot in the middle in the lower left of the display. What does that mean?** A: You press the mode button untill you find your desire weight unit, wait till it shows 00.00then place your item.
