Great Watch
I did a ton of research before buying this watch. If your wrist is smaller than 7 inches, you may have to punch additional hole in band. Leather band is stiff on arrival but just a little work softens it up fine. The face is super clean, with barley off white/green eliminated numbers and hands. The Miyota automatic movement seems fine and the brush metal is very good. I like that it's sapphire not mineral glass. This $279 price is best I seen to date, seems these watches can fluctuate higher sometimes. I personally think that unless getting the bead blasted case, blued hands, and ETA automatic movement, no Laco 1925 on face are a must for you at almost three times the cost, this is whole lot of watch for the money from one of the original 3 watch companies who made flieger watches. This should also cost less to service with its miyota movement over Swiss. If money is no option check out Stoya and if your kids going to college is of no interest to you, check out IWC. The Stoya has a 40mm for smaller wrist as well or you can check out the Laco Osaka at 36mm that is floating around $275 to $300 and looks exactly like the watch being reviewed. In another review on Amazon a customer made a personal choice to return this watch because this company made watches for the German airforce in WW2. While I respect that person's decision, I hope that person has also returned every product in their life made by GE, GM/Ford, Bayer, Hugo Boss, IBM, Siemens, etc. War is big business, this is just a watch company making observer/navigator time pieces. I preferred the A version of this style watch for how clean it looks. If you believe simplicity is the height of sophistication, this is a good choice.

my very first german made watch and I love it.
Very nice watch, I love the color of the face, the size, the numbers are very clear, the luminous hands are nice and the swipe of the seconds hand is marvelous. It's not heavy and the band is made of sturdy leather, altough it's a bit too long on my wrist since I use it in the last hole and I can fit a finger between the strap and my wrist. This is not a game changer fact, but be aware of the fact of maybe changing the strap for a tighter one. The box where it comes is big and have a zipper around, bigger than I've thought it would be.

Impressive timepiece for a great price
While I purchased this as a gift for my father, I did give the watch a thorough inspection before gifting it. It is a striking watch, great looking, and simple in its design. As Laco was one of the five original manufacturers of the flieger watches, this watch feels like a little piece of history. The band is substantial, quality leather, the lume is great. The display back, while not authentic, provides a view of the Miyota movement. It certainly isn't as decorated as a high end Swiss movement, but for this price, I wouldn't expect that. My father was delighted with the gift, and even commented on how easy the watch is to read at night (thanks to the Superluminova!). I may just invest in a Laco timepiece for myself as well!!!

Love it!!!
I been so happy with the movement, the dial, the glow at nite... i know there are more expensive better watches out there but this watch is like the toyota 4runner of watches... just works!!! i can barely hear the automatic gyro spinning as i move around but who cares? i dont think thats a deal breaker... keeps great time and has hacking function!!! looks awesome with nato strap and you can see inside on the back!!! you will not be disappointed in this watch... buy it and wear it with pride!!! i know i do...

Clean elegant watch
Very pleased so far. Amazon prime fast delivery did not let me down. The watch is very nice. The type A dial is so clean and the laco logo is perfectly fine. The numbers and indices are an off-white greenish, like the photos, but very nice looking. At first you may not like the stiffness of the band but you need to give it a chance. I have 7.25" wrists and average sized hands. The 42mm diameter is perfect. This design is not the same as the original. Stainless steel finish is more of a brushed finish, not really sandblasted as some descriptions indicate. I like the brushed look better. I need to see how well it keeps time. So for now it's 4 stars. Update 1-19-2016 Still happy with this purchase. I work at my desk most of the day so arm movement is minimal. I've been using the hand-wind to keep the watch going over night. The combination of movement and hand winding has worked just fine. I give it about 8 winds per day. The accuracy has been very good. After a week it's still within a minute of my seiko Quartz and iPhone. Style is subjective, but for me this is the nicest face to read and looks very masculine.

Lots of bang for the buck
This is the perfect flieger for me. I have several watches in my collection, from the affordable to the very high end. I found that a flieger doesn't get an enormous amount of wrist time. So it hard to justify an IWC for what little wrist time this would likely get. I also wasn't excited by big onion crowns. I found this one and thought it was offered a lot of bang for the buck. The Miyota movement is currently running +4 seconds per week. It is a good size that wears well on my 7.25" wrist. The lume is exceptional too. I swapped out the horrid factory strap for a much more comfortable and better looking Hirsch and suddenly this thing is getting more wrist time than I thought it would. This is mostly a weekend watch for me, as I'm in a suit most weekdays. My weekends have traditionally been dominated by a Breitling and a Glycine. After a couple of months, I find myself reaching for this Laco more than the other two on weekends now.

First legit watch...so happy I pulled the trigger!
As beautiful as advertised. Solid watch, looks great, glow in the dark accents are sooo cool (you do have to let it be exposed to enough light though to make it pronounced) leather breaks in easy and is hefty and great (only thing is my wrist is a bit small even for last hole so might need some minor adjustment, but I do like my watch a bit tight so that's my preference). Even better they package is this thing so well. I love the leather case and even that comes in a nice box. Class all around.

Beautiful watch that Does not keep time accurately and needs to be calibrated
I love how the watch wears and looks, its very very annoying that the watch is running fast by a minute a day. Its as if the watch was never calibrated by the factory and now this new watch needs a service to get it to run accurately.

Pretty good quality overall
Pretty good quality overall, not sure how accurate it is but it doesn't matter because I switch watches every few days. I wish there is one more hole on the strap because my wrist is small. I really like the back of the watches as it is transparent. You can look into the inside and see the movement. The difference with mine compare to the picture is mine as "Made in Germany" writing at the 6pm hour mark. Overall I am happy with what I've got and I believe it's worth the money.

Hermoso
Un reloj verdaderamente hermoso, bien construido, un reloj histórico de aviador de la segunda guerra mundial en su versión actual. Escaso y complicado de encontrar, pero vale la pena.

my first automatic watch.
This is a great looking watch and my first automatic. Shipped quickly and arrived in great condition. I love the clean, classic pilot watch aesthetic (and I'm happy with my decision to go with the Type A over the Type B). The strap is a bit big and awkward, and will likely take some time to break in—I had to use a leather punch to add an additional hole for my smaller wrist, and then eventually switched it out for another leather strap.
