DMW-BLC12 Lithium-Ion Battery for Panasonic Lumix®

I know that it's a lot more expensive than the knock-off brands, but I wanted to have a battery I could trust as far as safety and longevity. I already had one battery with the camera and this is the second one. This way if one runs out I can swap to another one while I charge the first, rather than not being able to use the camera until the battery charges.

I have discovered that there are a lot of generic versions of this on Amazon. They have strange multi-character names that appear to have been randomly generated. If a given random name gets too many bad reviews or if FakeSpot determines that too many reviews are computer generated they just put the same product online with a different random name. I bought this as a spare and it worked fabulously on my recent trip. A few notes on Lithium batteries - When storing them, they like to be at 50% capacity. They do not like to be hot and they will not charge at low temperatures. They will also have a lower capacity if they are very cold. In the normal conditions that I used them (25-> 40C) they worked fabulously. Lumix makes a quality product.

Works well in a Leica CL at half the price. Much more battery life than Kastar battery.

After we received the battery the camera said the battery was not compatible, but after minimal research and finding the firmware update with easy directions the batteries worked perfectly. The old batteries still work with new firmware. The batteries other then the firmware addition are the same and have the same outstanding battery life. Same great product with a little added time for doing the firmware. It's not plug and play but If you can use the Lumix camera then you are capable of doing the firmware.

Appears to be OEM, but who knows these days, paid 4-5 times what knock-offs cost, so I hope I'm not paying for a sticker.

For me, after market batteries for my cameras just doesn't make sense as I have far to much invested. The extended battery for my Panasonic pro video cam AG-HCM40 retails for a whopping $250 I was lucky to find it on Amazon for $110. I recently purchased the Panny FZ200 it's a marvelous camera but the battery life is short especially if it's a long shoot - so this was a no brainer. Most of us have either experienced or heard of after market batteries used in high end equipment at best not performing up to par and at worst, leaking or by other malfunctions ruining valuable equipment. It's not the worth the risk. This battery is the genuine article by the OEM, it charged up in no time and has saved me a great deal of time as I don't have to swap cameras when I'm shooting or wait for a semi-charge. Having a fully charged back up is essential and the price for this battery is outstanding. Add Free second day delivery for Prime Members and this makes the deal just that much sweeter. I was very sceptical about getting this battery as I didn't want a cheap copy of a LUMIX battery that would fail in hours. I was assured by the supplier that it was genuine LUMIX so I took the gamble despite its very high cost. I am very please to say that it is a genuine LUMIX battery and it is hold its charge for a long time without fading in the way that a cheap copy would. I trust this supplier 100%.

Don't pay more for a Leica branded battery. These are just as good if not the same. Holds a long charge in my Leica Q. I've now got 2 of these. More than enough for a 4-5 hour shoot, or a full day or two of walk around street photography.
