Analog headset adapters used to be 1/4" in diameter. We put those on our heads to listen to the "record player". Then they were replaced by 3.5mm jacks that also included a microphone signal. Those were used by the original cellphones, everything from AMPS to CDMA, TDMA, GSM. With smaller technology and slimmer LTE and 5G phones we now use the USB-C connector. If you still have a 3.5mm audio headset, wired earbuds, etc. and upgraded to a phone without that jack you can use this adapter and not have to buy a new headset. In my case I have a Bose Quiet Comfort 20, with automatic noise cancellation, amazing sound quality, and $195 to replace. Instead of replacing the Bose QC20 I picked up this adapter, plugged the QC20 into the 3.5mm female jack, plugged the USB-C male on the other side of the short cable into the phone. I can now use the headset just fine. It truly is plug and play. It comes with printed directions in a clear vinyl bag, but you really just plug it in between the headset and the phone. No configuration required, no settings changes. It works with iPhones, Android, Linux, etc. Pretty much if your USB-C device supports audio out and in (TRRS) this will work. Troubleshooting? It's impossible to have trouble, so no need to go shoot any. Plug in both sides. Done and done.

This is the only headphone adaptor I will use. It is extremely durable and lasts a long time. I always keep several on hand because they are small and easy to misplace, but they are high quality. They do work for phone calls as well as long as you buy headphones with a microphone. If the headphones don’t have a microphone you will be able to hear the other person, but they won’t be able to hear you. The size is perfect and I typically just leave it connected to my headphones for easy use. I use headphones constantly so this is a must have for me. Overall, I will continue buying these because they are exactly what I need and I know they work well and last a while. They are also a great price for something that works. I have bought some in the past from a different brand that was half this price but they broke after 1-3 uses, where I use each of these for months to years before typically misplacing it. I’ve never actually had one stop working. I will say that as they get older that they get picky and prefer to be inserted in one way, so sometimes if it isn’t working, pulling it out, flipping it over, and inserting it the other way can be beneficial.

It works, sometimes. It keeps disconnecting during calls and I have to remove and reinstall it for it to work for a few minutes. EDIT: The company reached out and offered a replacement for the defective part. Give them a chance.

Works well, except the volume and on off buttons on my wired earbuds do not work with this adapter. All controls must be accessed from phone. That is a bit inconvenient. I needed a way to use wired earbuds sometimes but my new android doesn't come with the jack. Otherwise this would be a 5/5. Sound is still great through adapter.

It works exactly how it's advertised to. You connect an audio device to one side, and connect the other to a USB-C port, and it works. It's easy to store, or take with you anywhere. 0 complaints

I had to have my Windows installation on my work computer reboot and when OT did it, my sound output was terrible afterwards. I tried to get them to fix it but they said not being was wrong. I bought this to replace then audio out from the motherboard and my audio sounds MUCH BETTER. it is massively easy to use, plug one end into an available USB C port and a 3.5 mm audio bakemimto the other end and viola…good sound again. Of course it’s t as good as a deducted sound card, but for less than $15 (and the inability to make modifications to the internals of my work computers) it fits the bill. Hopefully it last a while.
