Reducing it down, don't know if hurt the pump. **Q: This sump pump come with check valve ?** A: This pump does not come with a check valve. **Q: what kind of life would this pump have in a koi pond that runs 24/7 365. I have a savio skimmer. Had been using a dayton pump, but they are $$$.???** A: The CDU790 is a sump pump designed for residential, indoor, ground water only, sump pit applications. We would not recommend using any sump pump continuously or in a pond with aquatic life. My water well is very narrow measuring at interior for 11 inches diameter . None of the other pumps would work as the float would get stuck and make pump run indefinitely (even those that claim to be “tight space friendly “.
