Q: Can it be plugged in at all times like a traditional lamp?

I guess I'm still curious because the question seemed to be can it be used like a traditional lamp. The answer was yes it can be plugged in all the time and bonus! It will charge the battery. Not sure what to take from that.

Q: Can I connect it with Alexa if I don’t have a hue hub?

This can be connected using the Alexa app and an Echo hub. It can be controlled via Bluetooth using any of the Echo devices. If Bluetooth is not in range or to control more than 10 Hue lights, use the ZigBee network instead. ZigBee networking is available on any Echo device other than the Echo Show 2nd Generation or Echo Plus, or by adding a Philips hue hub to the local wired Ethernet network. The Hue hub adds a lot of features for controlling multiple lights, smart switches, for responding to integrating light sensors and motion sensors, and even for matching room lighting to the scene playing on the TV.

Q: Can the angle of the light be customized?

It can be one of 2 angles. Balanced on the built in stand, about 45° or flat on it's back. With mine I drilled a hole and threaded it for use with tripods, I wouldnt removed this unless you are very competent in doing so, as the plastic can crack easily

Q: The old version would not sit on the 'stand' well when plugged in. Have the resolved that in the new version?
