So these door cup guards are a great option over getting vinyl decal type guards adding in a little STI flair. For the 2019-23 forester they are a tight fit. At first I thought they would not fit. I decided to give it a try so I peeled off the protective film on the outer side and folded back the adhesive film at the midpoint so I could fit the sticky side down and still be able to adjust the position as needed. This worked out well. I inserted the guard from the top of the door handle while barely pulling back on the handle to give a little adjustment room. Once positioned I removed the adhesive backing completely and pressed firmly on all areas of the guard to insure adhesion. Overall I think these guards are great to protect against scratches and for covering up preexisting scratches. The material is a thicker molded vinyl with a carbon fiber texture. My only question is whether they are gray or navy in color. On my black forester they have the appearance of a navy blue. Maybe it’s just my eyes.
