A good introduction to interactive design.
This book provides a a very good source of information for new graphic designers in training or experienced designers who are moving from print to web and interactive design. The book is well written with great visual examples. I purchased it as a textbook for an introductory to web design class that I'm taking and I will keep it on my shelf for reference after I'm finished with the class.

So you want to find your way into and through interactive design. Start here.
A nutshell, a trove, a lifeboat? How best to describe this work? I come to this book as a training & development educator, left behind by design for at least the last 20 years. In a nutshell, this book takes the impact and complexities of the digital revolution on our world and reveals how complex knowledges, technologies and practices have come to bear on design and communication, as interactive design. This is a text-book and comprehensible reference for design students and practitioners; however, for me its strategic design approach also elevated it as a book of broader relevance revealing ideas about how interactive design is organised and impacting on global culture. Internationally, students can discover ways of thinking in design studies from an author who really understands global design education. The book’s organization and depth help make design thinking accessible through the very practical content and a clear unpacking of the journey from research to presentation. In that sense, it is not just about interactive design but about becoming a designer. Like its cover, some may suggest it’s a zoo out there for the graduating student. This may be the ark that that not only keeps a student afloat but helps them navigate to success.
