Street Fire 5526 Igntiion Coil - Red- Dual Connector

THIS COIL DIDN'T LAST A GOOD YEAR! PUT ON 93 S10 4.3L ENG. THE COIL HAS LESS THAT 1000.MILES OF USE ON IT. CALL COMPANY MDS AND THEY SAID WARRANTY HAD PASSED. I PURCHASED THE ITEM 1O/23/24. THE COIL WENT BAD 09/2025. I CALLED THEM 11/2025 THEY SAID THE WARRANTY HAD PASSED, WHICH IS TRUE! BUT A GOOD QUALITY COIL LAST 5-10 YRS. SO BUYER (BEWARE)! I WILL NEVER BUY A MDS ITEM AGAIN!

OK this didn’t fix my problem but it looks cool and it works good and it’s a MSD so you can’t go wrong. MSD wires next It’s the last thing I haven’t replaced…spoiler… it was the spark plug wires were bad.

I had this for over a year but yesterday while I was driving over 70mph I felt my car hesitant or jerking alittle then it smooth out. I suspect that it’s had to do with my spark plugs or wires. I had this issue in the past with my spark plug cable being melted by the exhaust before. I know how it feels when driving. I suspect it’s has to deal with the coil pack. Which I read many reviews that mention that when this pack get hot it cause a misfire in the engine which it looks like my problem. So I have order another coil pack from Ac delco this time to make sure I don’t get stranded. I like to keep extra parts in the van. I would not recommend this brand or coil pack.

I just replaced a 21 year old factory coil that came original in my 1993 S10 Blazer Tahoe with this thing. I purchased this truck brand new from the dealership right out of college. I went through hell to pay it off so naturally I can't easily part with something that cost me so much blood. Over the years I have replaced almost everything on this truck. The only original parts left are the transmission, the power steering pump (next on my replace bucket list) and the ignition coil. Lately I had been experiencing shifting and throttle problems so I figured it is time to replace the tired old coil. I went with the MSD 5526. What a difference this new coil makes for both throttle response, fuel economy and idling. I could not be happier with the purchase. MSD is going to be my go to ignition experts when I get around to building my project 1970 Trans AM racer :-)!

Product arrived on time. Install took 30min. I ended up taking the old coil bracket, sanded it and painted. Pretty simple though. As for performance, I do notice a better acceleration but iv owned my truck for quite some time so that might make a difference. Hope it last a lifetime but looking at the reviews, I doubt it. Oh well. I swear they build them to not last so they can sell more.

So far so good . Fit and performs prefect on a 1995 Chevy K1500 with a 5.7 TBI . A bit of advice you will have to purchase machine screws to attach brackets to coil once you drill or grind the mounting brackets of your OEM coil.

Immediate difference in start up. Put this on my 90 firebird formula 305 tbi. Old coil would get inconsistent after running for a while. Slow throttle and idle was poor. Installed with new injectors. Huge difference.

Direct replacement for stock coil. Works great. Made my van run like it should.

Works great just installed, seems to be a lot more responsive then factory original one... Direct fit no modification needed just removed old unit and put bracket from it on new one and reinstalled it... No problems, had to remove the fuel line to get one one bracket bolt.... 1993 Chevrolet K1500 Suburban
