Norpro Stainless Steel Cheese Plane Slicer with Wooden Handle, Silver

This cheese slicer is for my daughter. I have had my identical slicer made in Norway for over 40 years and this new one seems to be the closest duplicate that I have found. So far it slices and cleans up just as well as my original. They slice many different types of cheese without any issues. Definitely worth the money. I highly recommend!

I was looking for a good quality cheese knife similar to the one my grandparents had for many years, I think it's still being used by one of my aunts. Thanks to a few reviews that said it was very close to knives they had owned for years I purchased it and I am very pleased!! It is very sharp and easy to use and the price was so reasonable! Not what I had expected to pay for a good knife. I hope it lasts for years. Will update if an issue arises.

Too thick of a slice, i wanted thinner and it is not adjustable. Seemed to be well constructed.

Just like the Kaasmes ( Dutch for cheese knife) that I inherited from my Oma. It cuts medium to harder cheeses in perfectly planed slices. Softer cheeses like colby or jack, it sticks to the blade a bit. This can be resolved by cutting these cheeses when they are quite cold or rubbing a super thin layer of veg oil on the surface of the knife. My only issue is that I purchased this cheese plane for $10.94 and when I went to buy more to give as gifts, the price has way more than doubled to $26.27 without any seeming rhyme or reason for this huge increase. It was totally worth the price I paid, but is it worth the newly inflated price??????

wood handle cant take more than a few washes for finish to disappear.

Great Bjørklund cheese slicer. This same design was patented by Thor Bjørklund in 1925, and was made to be used on the «brunost/gjeitost» or goat cheese. It is still made in Norway, very good quality, and can be used on a variety of things. If you’re looking for a sharp cheese slicer made for medium to hard cheeses, that cuts thin slices, and gives you the perfect sized cheese slices for your sandwich, look no further. It’s a steal for this price. Fiskars slicers are a good alternative, but they can’t beat the Bjørklund design.

Works great and has held up over time. It’s tapered blade edge is still sharp. I like how lightweight it is. The lightness of the handle makes it easier to maneuver. Glad I purchased this simply designed efficient tool.
